'99 Timothy Tillman next to make jump to Bayern 1st Team? https://t.co/NTpIrYGkBU #usynt— Joey (@USAprospects) February 2, 2017
Thought I had posted this earlier: '99 Timothy Tillman next to make jump to Bayern 1st Team? https://t.co/NTpIrYGkBU #usynt— Joey (@USAprospects) February 2, 2017 From link (in German): FC Bayern Munich - Is Timothy Tillman the next FCB youth player to grab the breakthrough in the record? He has what it takes. Nevertheless cherishes not least Hoeness desire that finally a player from their own stables to stardom is through the completion of the new youth training center at Ingolstadt Road: " If one has such a great thing, then you must soon be every three years players get out of the first team and we must all work better together. " One of those he could create is Timothy Tillman. The 18-year-old Offensivtalent predicts a great future. At the tender age of 16, the record champion Timothy Tillman committed for € 500,000 from SpVgg Greuther Fürth. His younger brother Malik also joins the Bavarians. In order not to take the sprouts out of their family environment, the mother of the two footballers took up a new professional challenge near Munich. That he is worth the sum, Timothy has already proved several times. With eight goals and 15 draws in 24 assignments, the tener glowed in his first season for Bayern. He just missed the championship last year with the B-youth. For the A-juniors he was twice in the UEFA Youth League. High praise reaps "Timy" by his coach, Heiko Vogel, who says highly of his protégé: " towards goal can Timy always make the difference, as preparers or contactors, no matter: towards goal he is like a scalpel ." He emphasized the outstanding technique, the maneuverability and his speed in changing direction. In the current season a total of four goals and three assists in 18 assignments are on the account of the German American. In five youth league missions, the midfielder scored a goal and prepared another. As a result, according to the Spanish sports newspaper Marca, he already aroused the interest of Real Madrid. "We know they have been watching him for some time," says his consultant Christian Rößner. "Timi wants and should be at Bayern with." Rößner, by the way, also looks after Tillman and David Alaba, the last youth player, who has permanently taken the leap to the pros.

http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1616...occer-trying-to-lock-down-bayern?ICID=HP_BN_1 Though he is eligible to play for the United States — and is believed to have an American passport — Tillman has represented Germany on the youth level with teams ranging from the Under-15 to U-19 ranks. That fact didn't stop U.S. Soccer from reaching out to Tillman last summer and extending an invitation to train with the U.S. U-18 national team in November. Tillman initially accepted the invitation before passing on the opportunity after receiving a call-up from the German U-18 team. "We even had his tickets and everything. He was all set and ready to go, but he decided at the last moment that he would accept a call from Germany," U.S. Under-20 coach Tab Ramos told Goal. "I think the door is still open. We've been trying, but at the moment obviously he's still not with us. "The contact started last summer, and we followed up to the point where he was going to join us in November when he got the call from Germany and decided to do that," Ramos added. "We're on top of it." If he does in fact already possess a U.S. passport, then he would still have the option of playing for the U.S. unless he appeared for the senior German national team in an official competition, which is still a long way off for the youngster. Last paragraph: more apparent confusion from a journalist about how this dual national stuff works.
Went 90 for the U19s today: FCB-U19: Hoffmann - Stingl, Götze, Isherwood, Turkkalesi - Shabani, Tarnat, Fein (83rd Franzke), Tillman - Hadzic (74th Wintzheimer), Crnicki https://fcbayern.com/de/news/spielb...-fcb-u19-tsg-u19-120217?shortURL=U19TSG120217 (in German)
If you want to sell it, you might want to stop giving it away for free on BigSoccer. Of course, we won't allow you to actually do that.
His stats (3 goals and 2 assists) seem pretty weak for such a highly regarded player playing as a winger. Thats not to say he's not as good as Bayern think, but it is an interesting case to follow. Green had 10 goals and 6 assists at Tillman's age.
http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2017/02/15/bob-bradley-lafc-jonathan-klinsmann-timothy-tillman-usmnt waiting on Bruce Arena. Hmnn when I have seen this before....
The times this has worked (Johnson, Jones, Brooks) we've waited on the kids to play out their Germany option and mature into good players before joining up with the US as full internationals. I don't suppose we'll take that approach again...
Sounds like the kid is hinting for a first-team call-up. Not sure Bruce is in the mood to do any negotiating with dual nationals right now.
Having a head coach contact a top prospect wouldn't necessarily mean first team callup. More of a national team CEO showing interest in support of all his eligible teams. Talking through interest, upcoming youth team tournaments and interest level. To me it would be much more of a well down the line since his present interest in Germany and his distance from first team club football.
I understand that, but it does seem to be a bit more direct than usual posturing about "the first team to call". Getting a top prospect to give up a possible path to Germany would take some convincing and I'm not sure that the US power structure wants to get caught up in that right now. I'm all for Bruce connecting with him to discuss the future and he should. But Bruce's probably expecting a higher level of commitment and may not be in the mood to convince someone right now. Give him a U19 call-up and see how it goes.
I agree. We don't want to start calling up U17 dual national prospects to full team call-ups for a number of reasons. It calls of desperation, it sends the wrong signal to other professionals in our system, you lose credibility as an organization, it creates chaos where decisions are no longer based on thorough and measured process but of knee jerk emotion.
I know people are leery but honestly what's the downside of calling him in for the Gold Cup? The 2nd team is already going to be there. There's probably going to be an emphasis on integrating the future via younger players. If he's willing to be cap tied, promising him a start versus Honduras or someone shouldn't be that big a deal. Especially if he plays well this spring and looks like he's ready for a loan to get first team minutes next season. The US doesn't exactly have a long line of players that are getting offers from RM and teams like that, even if they think he's more for the future than right now.
