After Jones, Brooks and Johnson’s display in Brazil, I am inclined to be greatful for their contributions, and humble if I ever assessed them other than fully valuable. Without them we would be looking back to Landon’s goal in Pretoria as the last meaningful moment for US Men’s soccer.

If Timothy Tillman feels compelled to commit his international allegiance to the United States, then long may he play for us. He seems like a good talent.

    I agree @Rahbiefowlah
Also if you have considerable free time go through Bayerns u-teams i counted 6 usa players. I think if tt does not get loaned out to a 2 division team in the summer discussion of him with the nats really should stop. I wonder how many -u german players are selected from Bayern Just because they play at Bayern academy.

I took a look at Bayerns development over the past six years and on average they develop one Bundesliga Player a year. Given the six player we have 1/3rd shot of getting ONE Bundesliga Player. That's also assuming the player wants to play for us. I will take one amazing Terrance Boyd over 5 Chandler's every day of the week.

had a goal and an assist.

nothing fascinating, both veer towards the tap ins area and Tillman's assist at the end was very lucky one too.

with an expiring Summer 2018 contract, looks like he's headed out of Bayern, like many others are too.

Has been linked to 2BL's FCN who are in strong contention for promotion to 1BL.

FCN have been promoted to 1BL and have a shot at winning the 2BL title as they are currently in 1st place. Last game they play is vs 2nd place FD, a win or draw for FCN and they win the 2BL.

so if he joins he'll be joining a 1BL team.

so his potential move to FCN amounted to nothing?

does he intend on extending his Bayern stay with an expired July 2018 contract? What a waste if he stays even longer rotting in Bayern II. Otherwise it makes no sense for Bayern to play a player who's not going to be there in July.

I agree, much like a young Julian Green, the writing is on the wall. If Tillman were to move to FCN I feel he'd have a legitimate chance of breaking into the first team, that opportunity simply doesn't exist at Bayern Munich. Tillman's progress could be severely stunted if he re-ups with FC Hollywood.

the writing on the wall is also looking at the other players at the club, especially ones in similar positions.

99-Tillman was moved to Bayern II in the Summer 2017, while 00-Evina who barely turned 17 played in Bayern II in that same Summer before being promoted to Bayern II. Then who got to play 2 games for the Bayern 1st team this season the 17 year old while Tillman was called up 0 times to the main team.

if the FCN move doesn't happen he should consider a move to Holstein Kiel, which is now coached by ex Bayern II coach Tim Walter and with so many players either leaving or only on loan, plenty of open spots there in 2BL.

What is the right level of “good but not great” season he can have to keep him developing, but forces Germany to let go so we can have him?

that's not really how it works unless Tillman himself decides to leave to the US and cant be convinced to stay. Tillman is still eligible for Germany Youth NT levels until the 2021 U21 EC. Not even bringing up any senior NT discussion which is another topic altogether, and with less friendly games in the future because of things like Nations League.

Well, I was referring to that report that said he was going to switch and then it came out that Germany said they weren’t giving up on him. Presumably, that meant he stayed with Germany for the time being. That’s why I say we need them to lose interest

it was official words from Tab Ramos back in Jan, that he will join the US U20 camp in March.

losing interest when it comes to youth level is not an easy thing, otherwise Sidney Friede and others who don't deserve it would stop being called up to the German youth levels. You think they will lose interest in a player who will play in 1BL next season?
