Moyes held Tim back by taking him out of the starting lineup and then he came in and scored in the 84th minute......coincidence that Timmy scored in the Aussie vs. Japan for the first time also in the 84th minute of the game. Coincidence.....more like fate...maybe a sign from our patron saint of soccer Johnny Warren, that Tim should be the next Aussie captain... TIM CAHILL is the BEST!!!!
I love Tim, and he's definitely one of our top couple of players at the moment, but I think there are a few other guys I'd prefer as captain... Vinnie Grella, Lucas Neill, Mark Bresciano. Not that I don't think he's a great player, just that I think the other guys are more suited to the leadership role.

Agreed, I'd put Chippers in there as well (although his age would rule him out long term.) Cahill is like Kewell, great player but not really captain material.

With Moyes coming out and saying that Tim is as good as any midfield player that Arsenal have and Tim being one of nominees for the prestigious European Footballer of the Year award. When will the Big clubs come for Mr T Cahill he is scoring goal after goal for Everton. The More he scores the better he looks when the voting for the award is finished. Tim is Australia's best player at the moment and he Should be playing Champions League Football.
