Oh, they'll be all in until someone reminds them that colleges are watching and taking names. If these kids want to attend an SEC school, they are going to become very quiet soon enough. #NoProtestsOnFraternityRow

Their generation is going to spend their entire lives trying in vain, to reverse all the lasting effects of disastrous policies enacted by the boomers.

Well, at least they're getting started when they're young, so that will increase their chances.

It is a looong shot, it will be difficult and they will face plenty of obstacles and attacks, but hopefully these kids will make the world a better place, unlike most of the generation currently in charge...

If more vets who can't get any other job for whatever reason are trusted with guns inside of schools and made to treat schools like a war zone and then teachers get to have guns as a last line of defense, there won't be anymore problems.

Every school I've been to for any reason in the last couple of decades has had two uniformed officers in the building. Honestly, I'd be surprised if the given school's administration hasn't agreed secretly to allow some others to carry just in case.

I've known of maybe four or five teachers I'd trust to be armed and ready for a confrontation with a school shooter*. That's as a student and as a teacher. The rest vary between "Not sure" and "Don't even give that mofo a Nerf gun".

And there's the heat of battle thing, where a cop (who does not work at the school, but was called in) sees the gun but doesn't recognize the teacher. Teacher gets filled with lead.

*And I don't hold their teaching skills in high regard

    Mass shooting unintended consequences...

Our school district imposed stricter visiting standards at our schools after Newtown. And now after Parkland actual cops will be on campuses in addition to the retired unarmed cops at the main doors.

Anyway, went to coach my middle school basketball team tonite and I see like 5-6 kids jammed into the little vestibule they created at the front doors. Parents that used to drop off their kids now have to park and go to the doors to sign them in. I guess it'll make things safer? Not sure how exactly. This is all a bit of overkill IMO. Are they going to screen 300 people at a HS basketball game too?

Probably. Two schools here had such an ugly, violent basketball rivalry that ticket sales were limited to a few dozen for the visiting fans. A few schools here have you walk thru metal detectors now to get in. Others have a camera so the people can see you and open the door remotely. None of that's gonna save anybody from a guy who just shoots thru the glass and walks in.

I just saw a meme that read, "If I see a child hit another child with a stick, I don't blame the stick. But I take the stick away."

Well the world is a much better place now than before, so the current generation in charge did some good things, but we should always try to improve.

Looking forward to having to take off my shoes to drop my kid off at his first day of kindergarten. Also, looking forward to not being able to bring more than three ounces of liquid inside the school. My son will just have to buy a 12-ounce bottle of water for $4.50 every day because, hey, there's a profit to be had from this tragedy.

Just seems like majority of Americans hate their children, climate change is a hoax, no to single payer, no to free college
