Possible. But I don't think he has been bad. Again, they are getting killed in midfield. You can see that even Neymar is frustrated with the service, as he just went off on Nkunku.
Weah wasn't very involved in the first half, but that's not his fault. He's playing CF, and PSG's attack is incredibly disjointed at the moment. Guingamp look like the better team (and the better coached team). Thuram won't be there long.
That's the issue. Weah is playing CF. The team needs someone to create space in midfield. Rabiot/Nkunku/Bernede are just not doing it.
He was taking on 2 PSG defenders at a time. PSG look really flat and haven't been sharp for a team with all that "supposed" talent.
Barcelona makes a ton of awful buys. I can think of 3 absolute scrubs they've taken from Arsenal in the past decade for reasons I cannot fathom.
He is drawing two defenders and not getting any favors from DiMaria or Neymar. Rabiot seems a little behind the pace fr whatever reason. There was a moment words the end where Nkunku looked up and Tim was open right in front of him. He went to DiMaria. The rest is history. Mbappe fr DiMaria, pls.
I think, to be fair to Tuchel, a CF in that first half formation needs to create. I don’t see Weah doing that consistently at the moment.
A CF with Rabiot and Nkuku behind him and Neymar and DiMaria on the wings most definitely should not be the creator, imo. He occupied the center backs, but the rest of them were too ineffective to make use of the space he was creating. And DiMaria...just go away. All of his on the ball dawdling is annoying.
welp.... that wasn't good. little to no movement from him, and the 3 possessions (in tight spaces) were turnovers. Even on Neymar's long dribble across the field he should have backed off and made the run back post instead of running parallel to him. I get the midfield was disjointed and he was obviously told to just stand at the top of the box and let di maria and neymar sit underneath....but that was a performance with little effort. I missed the 1st 10 minutes so only commenting on the last 35. Had the 1 nice hold up but played it behind di maria. Not mad at him, but wasn't a good one to watch. bummer.
I did not see it that way at all. I saw him make taking up good positions and making good runs and not getting fed or else the ball coming in too late or too poorly. When you’re a forward, you lose the ball a lot, so to me, that means pretty much nothing in how I evaluate a striker. If you’re a back to goal center forward type, then it matters. Tim isn’t that.
