Well good sir congratulations, I don't think the debut could have gone better. I know you have waited for this forever. It would be nice if on this auspicious occasion our old freind Freidl's Accent would make an appearance:
Busy fixture list ahead for Celtic. They have weekend and midweek games every week until the second weekend of February. Next up is St. Mirren at home on Wednesday.
Maybe this has already been answered but is he eligible for the Europa league? Not sure if he was added to the roster
Can someone please remind me, how many games is he getting in his half-season again?? 15 with Europa League?
At least 22. 13 scheduled league matches + 5 playoff matches, 2 Europa League matches, at least 2 Scottish Cup matches.
He should be, but he's not on their squad list yet: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2019/clubs/club=50050/squad/ I believe they have until end of Jan. to submit any updates.
Happy for our guy but that's a semi-pro team. Playing time is what he needs though. Still a positive but the hype on Twitter over his goal was silly.
There’s a difference in hyping a goal and being hyped a highly rated, high profile American teenager scored in his debut for one of the most followed clubs in the world. The reaction I saw was the latter. Even if it were the former, no problem here. Frankly, I’m not a big fan of all of the voice of reason stuff. If a kid plays well and gets a goal, I say is fans should embrace and enjoy it. If any of us disappear tomorrow, I hope that no one is going to eulogize the departed by recalling how reserved his demeanor was when a young YA knocked in a goal against a cup opponent.
Just one goal and all that, but the kid seems to always take the chances he's given and make something of them wherever he is. Early days, but if he continues doing just that, he'll turn out a really good player. We may end up with a traffic jam up front for the US yet if all of Pulisic, Sargent and Weah pan out in a year or three.
The kid is so mature, humble, hungry, and seemingly ready to fight to be the best. I am fired up for Timo!!!
I'm a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan and I've learned over decades that being pessimistic and rationale doesn't really make me feel any better when Lucy pulls the ball from me. It's still soul crushing to lose even when you know and dread it could be happening. It's much better to be optimistic and once I started to do it (coinciding with my twins getting to rooting age), Super Bowl baby!!!!!
It'll depend on how much they play him. Celtic plays with a single striker (former PSG youth Edouard) and a SS/AM who also scores regularly (Sinclair). Now Edouard is injured and Weah has been brought as an emergency replacement, so he's likely to get a chance right away. However, they are very happy with the French guy, and he's very likely to get back by February, and Rodgers is unlikely to switch to a system with two strikers, so after that Weah's time may be spotty. Unless he really shines in the early games.
Ugh, yet again your negative, sceptical, cryptic tone shines through. Let the guy get some minutes down. Can we not predict his downfall please? Let’s just see how today goes, then this weekend. Maybe he gets 20 minutes today. Maybe 15 on Saturday. Make the most of it, regardless of who is returning from injury, and let your dedication lead the way Timo!!!
