the minnows would be "relegated" to the last group and never leave like they are doing with UEFA with their 4 tiers... it would be cool to see the US have to sweat making world cups for a change....maybe the good 'ol boys wouldn't be so comfy, if so
Regarding the allotments by confederation, it does seem strange. Does UEFA just get less because they have their own U21 Euro championship, so they give more slots to everyone else at the U20? I noticed Oceania got 2 slots for this 24-team tournament, while they only get .5 slots for the 32-team WC, for example.
One issue that confuses things is that UEFA looks at the age when the 2 year cycle starts, rather than when it ends. Their U21 championship is actually a U23 tournament based on the standards of most other countries.
Any new rumors, substantiated or not? Wishful thinking is allowed, but please be clear if you are just making something up. Thanks in advance!
I have heard through extremely un-reliable sources that Boca Juniors are interested in a loan scenario. Unclear whether or not Weah’s representation have been contacted as this has no basis in reality.
Perhaps a deal to Lille looms close? Weah proche d'être transféré à Lille (L'E) https://t.co/d1KFq6aX7j #PSG— CulturePSG (@CulturePSG) June 12, 2019
I would have argued that Weah should have done both the U-20s and Gold Cup - but only if he was stuck at PSG. So this is excellent news that he and his team are acting quickly and decisively. And Lille is a step up from Celtic.
Lots of competition on the wings there unless some dudes are on the way out. Even if Pepe leaves you'd think they'd spend some of that money on replacements outside of Timo.
Just a Lille Weah from PSG: Weah at Lille (only if a loan, if full transfer, this obviously doesn't work) Also, would love for this move to be accurate
Lille wouldn't throw money around to seat a guy on the bench. Last year the most the spent was 5 mil € and he was a regular player. However that might be different this year given they have income streams soon to he trickling in between CL and the sale of Pepe
