Good morning everyone. Let me start off by saying congratulations to FC Cincinnati! 30,160 in attendance is impressive, and it was an exciting upset. I'm on the give Cincinnati an MLS team bandwagon. Also congratulations to Sacramento Republic, another team I hope eventually ends up in MLS. Fandom should be rewarded. Republic FC scores a huge victory, defeating an MLS team in US ... Here's some big news for today: Cyle Larin arrested in Orlando for DUI. http://www.wesh.com/article/orlando-city-star-cyle-larin-arrested-on-dui-charge-in-orlando/10026895
My daughter is literally taking a driving course this week and Tuesday we discussed the science behind this and the .02 - .08 thresholds, which sound so low to her. .182!!! Dayum!
Larin is a lucky guy. He could have died, or even worse, killed someone else. The dude was stopped while driving the wrong direction on a road at more than twice the legal limit in his bloodstream.
I have always said that he is made for LA....in every way. Physically, mentally, attitude wise he fits the bill.
Cyle Larin should be forced to watch every cautionary documentary out there about the what-could-have-been career of Charlie Davies to scare him straight.
Well CJ Sapong missed 3 weeks while in MLS' Substance abuse program, and all of the charges against him were dropped a year or so later. I'd have to think that Larin will be in MLS' treatment program for at least a month. Question: if convicted, would/could this prevent Larin from playing International games (travel restrictions) with Canada or OCSC? *IMO if someone gets stopped for driving under the influence, they should get ZERO sympathy. It's on you if you get behind the wheel and endanger the lives of others. No excuse or valid reason for it.
I'd rather he meet with the families of people who were killed by drunk drivers and see what he could have done to someone else and their lives. I have a close friend whose child was killed by a drunk driver. No words for the effect on the family and their lives. If he wants to wrap his car around a tree and ruin his own life fine....but there is much worse out there.
These four posts back-to-back without picking up the context switch in what @falvo quoted (the Ronaldo article) confused me for a bit
Hell, go to the US Boards and watch the same 6 or 7 posters try to rationalize JK....and they are presumably sober! They have gone from "our talent sucks (even compared to Honduras and Panama you idiots) and JK is only doing what he can with garbage....to "BA isn't maximizing our talent and we should have gone toe to toe w Mexico in Azteca on 2 days rest, and making seven changes is no big deal." No joke....the same exact posters have flipped the switch completely in about 6 months. That is impressive and rationalization/delusion on an impressive scale.
1. In what way would that be any more attractive to Ronaldo than LA? 2. Who christened Miami "the capital of the Latino-Caribbean world"? What are the criteria?
Miami's unofficial title is the Capital of Latin America. It's really the capital of rich Latin America. The amount of money that flows through Miami from Latin America is mind blowing.
And if I might echo @Paul Berry 's point #1, why would that necessarily be more attractive to a Portuguese person than New York or LA... or Boston?
