In my lifetime i have only known the world cup to be on univision. Im not sure what to expect production wise. They obviously need to hire more play by play commentators/ analyst .
The English coverage on espn these past world cups was decent, way ahead of univision. I hope Fox can get michael ballack to come back, dude was pwning the nads left and right lol
I get it over the air, but it's like low end quality HD, the picture gets pixelated all the time. Their signal is not the strongest, so that might have something to do with it. DirecTV needs to have both East and West signals or the local Telemundo channel in HD, I've been waiting ages for it, that and Fox Deportes.
I personally don't give a flying ********, I just watch the game and that is it I don't give a shit about anything else. Give me the game in HD and that is all I need, that said I will be watching on FOX.
Even in HD Telemundo picture quality is shit. I think it's the filters they use... And cantore is hardly passable
About the commentators, they'll bring in more dudes, probably former players to narrate the less important matches. Out of their current crew everyone but Hermosillo range from decent to good (miles ahead of Univision) but at least its on an over-the-air network and not beIN or some other one. What sucks is that unlike Univision, Telemundo only has one OTA channel and no other dedicated sports channel. Only people who get to watch the less important matches are those with NBC Universo on their package.
Its going to be an interesting transition I assume most of the radio network futbol de primera would be the base for the Telemundo team Play by Play Cantor Sammy Eugenio Diaz ( Azteca reject, really annoying on the radio) Color Pibe Hermosillo, Sol Yayo de la torre Steve Sampson Bora Castrilli as the ref analyst Add the terrible crew of titulares y Mas, sprinkle some Jesse Lozada and Monica Noguera ( don't ask me why, she is part of the olympics team) With Telemundo and NBC universo being the only two spanish networks, they might use one of the lower NBC networks to broadcast games in Spanish. I assume they would do a push to have NBC universo more readily available I'll give telemundo the benefit of the doubt, though their olympic coverage is garbage, it might be due to getting NBC's crumbs As far as prediction of most annoying addition, how bout fernando schwartz. This ********er has to always torment my life on some form of fashion.
Joe Buck casually calling Gio's goal in the final against Argentina would be a n awesome juxtaposistion
