This is what happens when you have a Scottish architect, a Scottish Engineer and a Scottish budget. Late to the party, I know . . .
Yeah, those world famous Scottish stereotypes. We make bad engineers and bad architects. Up there in infamy with French people being smelly and the Irish being stupid. I'll never know how we built the Forth Bridge or Edinburgh Castle. Probably got Americans to do it.
Yes, the original architect for this stadium was the renowned architect, Archibald Leitch, whose other projects included: (Tea Factories in the Kandyan Kingdom of Deltota Ceylon), Bramall Lane, Arsenal Stadium, Stamford Bridge, Celtic Park, Anfield, Craven Cottage, Hampden Park, Roker Park, Old Trafford, Villa Park, Ibrox, Goodison Park, White Hart Lane, Fratton Park
exactly what my tourguide of Anfield told me last month. Something about Leitch designing them in such a way that they'd last far longer than many others of the time.
Sounds like an assist: 54. Johnsen down the left; his shot finds Cowie at the back post who taps in from close range. 3-1 Hearts! #HMFCLive— Heart of Midlothian FC (@JamTarts) February 1, 2017
I knew it!!!!! Actually, much as I hate to say this, the designers of the Forth Bridge were both English.
