From Player of the Season to bencher, all based on personal sympathies and antipathies, because he's still looked good when he's played (as per fan reports).

Guess it's true, the most important job for a player is to please his coach.

Due to injury or poor form from his rival at that position?

Poor form. Darikwa was never as good as Lichaj, and everybody seems to know it. However, Warburton being Warburton was giving first dibs to the England national.

Against Derby he finally gave Eric a chance, and our boy proved so good, he had to also play him against Burton, or else he risked a fan revolt.

My guess is Mark will wait until Eric has a day slightly off to bring back his boy.

He was just running back to his position as right back... and thanking every single fan along the way :p. In all seriousness, the fans will love him even more now (after being their choice for player of the year) and that will just add pressure on the manager who has inexplicably kept him benched all year.

If "fighting in Europe for your right to play" is a quality to be admired, few deserve more admiration than Eric Lichaj. Almost 10 years there, since he was 19, and he never stopped trying.

Have to give Lichaj some love. After losing his starting position despite being last year's player of the year, he has regained it. Since that time, Forest has won 4 of 6 and has climbed from 16th to 7th and just two points out of the playoffs.

He should have never lost the position to begin with, that was his coach playing favorites.

I keep seeing him listed as LB, is he actually playing there for Forest?

He played RB in the Carabao Cup, and started playing RB in the Ch'ship, but in the last three games or so he's back to LB.
