This guy is like Zardes, if Zardes were an actual footballer.

I noted this in the USA Men forum, but you wonder how much of Siebatcheu's holding out for France has been based on the fact that he's been YNT-eligible for them. Longshot (at best) for the senior team, but he was a pool player for their U21s. Now that's going to expire without a provisional cap-tie and nothing more than a couple sub appearances in low-level friendlies. Perhaps he will continue to try to go for France a while longer, but now he can only go for the senior team and his competition will be significantly stronger than the U21 side he could not break into even when healthy.

Good point, certainly. And of course, I would love to see him give us a shot. But I hate to see his dream end like this. I'd rather see him go out on his shield ON the field of play, and not be eliminated by an injury that rules him out of the competition.

I know the Forward spot seems crowded especially at the U-23 level, but if he was 100 percent always going to play for the USA like Nova or Sargent, I think it would really come down to who fits in better with the set of players we have.

It's been a disappointing season for him, but he's also struggled with injuries. I think he's in for a bounceback next year for sure. In some ways his career mimics Bobby Wood's but he did it at a much younger age.

seemed like his inability to stay fit hurt him this season. One step forward, two backwards.

a lot of clubs have little patience for inexperienced strikers at top flight level and are very quick to dump players after 1 or 2 seasons.

lol that his club from Ligue 2 Reims ended in 8th place while Rennes ended up in 10th. Never get why players who help a club get promotion jump ship to another club. Your going from 1st choice to non 1st choice in a new club.

also not mentioned here but Rennes won the Coupe de France so they qualify for EL next season. So if he stays more Europe.

actually reading that article (fluent in French).

It says between injuries and mediocre performances he's had a tough season and that Rennes want to dump him this Summer (not the only player) and would do so if there is an interesting offer for him which supposedly Huddersfield is interested.

and then the Congo striker would compensate his departure.

actually sounds way worse reading it.

We need to cap this kid soon. I say call him in for upcoming friendlies. He needs to realize he has no shot playing for France.

how deserving is he to play for us?

i know our striker pool, and i know bs was sure this guy was going to be a game changing dominant player if only we could get him (which obviously isnt the case).

so what is the case for him? clearly better than zardes? about level with jozy? sargent with a resume? sapong if he wasnt old and never got a chance? can you give reasons other than "plays in france"?

    im really asking.

Who is Zardes clearly better than? That’s why we need to try others, especially if they have scored some goals in a decent league.
