Someone need to forward this tweet to everybody that has anything to do with US Soccer; coaches, executives, players, media, ball boys, everyone...
Don't worry, Thomas Rongen has visited h̶i̶s̶ ̶h̶o̶m̶e̶ R̶e̶i̶m̶s̶ France three times in the past year.
He went the distance in a 0-0 draw. According to Reims' Twitter and a L'Union article, he had a goal denied at 29' due to an apparently unjust offside call. He also had a "brilliant acrobatic" attempt at 62' that went wide.
Bocanegra. he'd also make a great TD for the national team. I like what he's done in Atlanta and that makes them less competitive too .
who speaks fluent French? I believe Gooch might be the only who was spoken before as having a fluency in the language
Yeah, I mentioned him up-thread. USSF should definitely have Regis reach out. Go to training and talk with him. Of course, we all know that most-likely hasn't and won't happen.
Everyone else has the same chance. He hired the coach, set up what seems to be a top three academy in one year and yes does by top talent but it is youthful talent and if he has a direct part in identifying it then that would pretty dang useful. Maybe he can ID the best ones for the national team if he's in charge, set up the type of system to use and hire a coach that fits that. Oh, wait maybe he should ask Sunil what he thinks.
Fivethirtyeight's global club rankings has Reims at 119th in the world. That's ahead of 8 Ligue 1 sides and 66 spots ahead of the highest MLS side, Toronto, at 185. For reference, they are one spot ahead of West Brom and one spot behind Ingolstadt.
