Jordy bags a brace. According to Reims' Twitter, he had two more attempts that were barely wide. 90'+1 BUUUUT signé @Theosonsmith, qui trompe Deneuve d'un contre-pied parfait sur ce penalty !!! There goes our chances of nabbing him, the better he gets, I'm sure the more press and fame and of course promotion to Ligue 1. If we want him, we need to cap him asap. whatever game we have for February or March. Because, otherwise we have lost him once his club is in Ligue 1.
all it takes is one France U21 call up and he'll already be provisionally cap tied. I know people keep saying call him up in March but those Qualifiers are also in March.
I got a question about many developing nations trying to cap players of their ancestry, but tend to be American or British or French. what exactly do they lure them with? I suppose Cameroon can say "play with us and you're sure to start at a WC when we qualify", but do these associations have enough $$ to finance flying players from abroad? Just like years ago with Adebayor and Togo. Does that country have the finances to really tempt him to play for them if a player has alternatives (like the country they grew up in)?
The international game doesn't make anyone rich. So between getting paid peanuts here and a bit fewer peanuts there, but with the added bonus there that you're representing "my people" and have the chance to become a hero to not just your mother but people from your family's hometown and the country overall, well, it's not an easy decision. Also, due to the birds-of-a-feather principle, most people grow up surrounded by "my people" so it's not a culture shock as big when they go back there.
It can be for some say used to a certain standard of living in 1 country and return to their parents homeland and it's completely different. But I definitely see your point.
Goal sequences start at 2:03 (left-footed finish) and 3:30 (penalty). Two more close attempts at 0:33 (header) and 2:54 (chip). https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6degh9

That may in fact be the best thing that could happen in the long term from a US perspective, because I personally view Cameroon the much more dangerous threat to his long term international allegiance and a provisional cap tie to France via the U-21's probably keeps Cameroon from being a serious contender to potentially poaching him for a couple more years. A provisional cap tie to France in March would allow the US the requisite time to rebuild the senior program before approaching him again in a couple of years with something of actual interest to offer: i.e. a realistic chance to be a starter at the 2022 World Cup for a knockout round team.

So he gets called up for the March/June friendlies right??? What, Sarachan is still in charge? OK never mind. Move along, nothing to see here.
Siebatcheu is one of three nominees for official Ligue 2 Player of January. He won the award for September and was a nominee for December as well. https://www.tropheesunfp.com/
