Yeah, that seems pretty likely now.

Anyone know his contract status? He's not going to just walk away on a free this summer is he?

Yep his contract ends this summer. So he is free to negotiate with other teams now, there were talks about Benfica before. Don't know what happened with that though.

Isn't Nolito the one that said that he would go to LPB if they made him a good offer?

I think he will sign for some mid-table team in Spain.

He doesn't have a place in our team, specially after that stupid comment he did. He is not that young either. It's bad that he will leave on a free transfer though.

Nolito is the second leading scorer for Barça B this season and has shown at times a telepathic-like understanding with Thiago, who we feel will be a senior team regular eventually.

Re: The Youth Thread | "Adventures of Barça B in the Segunda and other blaugrana kids"

Is there a thread to track / discuss progress, contract status, etc. of players we still own rights to? Youth seems a bit of a misnomer and so does Former Barca players, or Transfers?

I am mainly thinking of expensive signings who did not make the squad and are out on loan: Keirrison, Caceres, Henrique, Hleb, hopefully not Ibra (meaning I hope Milan has to and/or does buy him outright). But there are also good Masia products (e.g. Victor Sanchez, out on loan or for whom we have the right to buy back).

If no thread exists should we make one?

Re: The Youth Thread | "Adventures of Barça B in the Segunda and other blaugrana kids"

Four players called up to Spain U-20

Marc Muniesa, Cristian Tello, Sergi Gómez and Javier Espinosa are the 4 players. Barça is the club with most players. Martí Riverola who is on loan at Vitesse is also called.

If I'm not wrong Cristian Tello hasn't played that much for the Spanish youth NT's. He is doing a great season for Barça B so it's good that he gets awarded for it. A very exciting player to watch. Javier Espinosa that recently got promoted to Barça B is also in.

It's will be interesting to see how Barça B will be formed next season as well. Some of the older players will probably leave so either a couple of new 22-24 year old players like Carmona, Soriano etc will come in and to help, or maybe the youngsters actually will be able to pull it off themselves. Now with a year in Segunda under the belt they might not need them. Even though Soriano, Edu Oriol, Nolito etc are key players for Barça B. Actually all of the forwards in Barça B are 24-25 years old except Cristian Tello. So it's in that position we need some new canterano to come up from the youth teams.

But historically we always had problems to produce good strikers. The #9 has always been for foreign cracks. Of course we have our hopes on our current #9 Bojan but he isn't exactly living up to the expectations.

Bad that Rúben Rochina left for Blackburn, he seemed talented. It will also be interesting to see if any of the Cameroonian kids will get promoted to Barça B sometime. Many of them are really talented and they have been tearing up the youth leagues for many years now but none of them seem ready to take the step up to Barça B yet.

A Loan thread? Sounds like a good idea. Can you rustle up a comprehensive list of all of them and start a new thread?

    Zlatan Ibrahimović (AC Milan)
    Aleksandr Hleb (Birmingham City)

    Martí Riverola (Vitesse)
    Isaac Cuenca (CE Sabadell)

We should release or sell Milito and buy back Botia. He's been very good for Sporting.

Yeah I agree. Botia impressed more than Henrique. Henrique is not Barca material IMO.

Barça B is up 2-0 at half against Gimnastic. Jonathan and Soriano scored the goals.

    Here is a livestream: http://www.rojadirecta.es/goto/deportemixtv.blogspot.com/

EDIT: 3-0 now. Jonathan dos Santos scored again. Nice assist by Thiago and good finish by Jonathan.

EDIT again: 4-0. Soriano again. Montoya won a penalty that Soriano took care of.

This was Barça B's 4 straight goleada victory. They've scored 18 goals in 4 matches.

It's official that Luis Enrique won't continue as a coach for Barça B next season. He asked to leave after the end of the season. Probably he already have a job in La Liga waiting for him.

That sucks. I wanted him to someday replace Pep when he inevitably takes the Qatar NT job.

OK, based on the injury report after the Sevilla match and today's awful news, the first team now has only Gerard Pique and Gabriel Milito as healthy defenders. That's it, that's all.

I haven't been paying much attention to Barcelona B. Are there defenders that can come up and make a difference? What are the rules/restrictions on that?
