How the heck does Scotland not take Andy Robertson to Russia? report indicates he has not been called in for the warm-ups?

from ThisisAnfield "...while Andy Robertson has been left out for Scotland’s upcoming friendly clashes with Peru and Mexico.."

The dates of those matches are May 29 and June 1st. May 29th might be the day of the parade.

I’m sure all the other Scottish players that are going to Kiev were left out as well.

I'm so depressed about the WC that I can't even name most of the teams involved, it would make sense that I would just assume Scotland were in. I just saw Morocco was participating, I learned that today. Whatever.

The sooner August rolls around the better, as far as I'm concerned... :*(

Yeah - this its the least interested I've been in a WC in...maybe my whole life...

I will watch some games, but nothing like the last few Cups, where I watched nearly every game...

    Group A - Egypt
    Group B - Spain ?!
Group C - Any but France
    Group D - Iceland
Group E - Switzerland, Costa Rica
    Group F - Mexico, Sweden
Group G - ??? Belgium (except for Fellaini and Hazard), England, Panama?
    Group H - ???

Realistically, I guess I'd like to see Argentina win it for Messi (he's won everything else...), but I just really don't want Brazil or Germany to win...except for Firmino, if one of the "favorites" has to win, I'll vote for Hard Bobby Firmino!

I'll enjoy watching Egypt, I hope they play some entertaining soccer, maybe allowing Salah to get a couple goals, and then get bounced ASAP so Salah can get a vacation. If they even get out of the group they'll probably be 2nd and probably face Spain, so that seems a likely outcome.

I always watch England. I'm sure they will be mediocre at best. They'll limp into the quarters because of their lucky draw and get smashed by someone good I'm sure.

I'll mostly spend the cup waiting/hoping for Portugal and Spain fail... and, obviously, mourning the lost cycle for the utterly pathetic USA.

With you on most accounts...for some reason I have (had) an affinity for Spain...it must go back to ‘el Nino’ before he deserted...so maybe I can stop that nonsense...

What I’d really like is for a country to win it that’s never won it before...except Portugal...how likely is that?

I don't rate Southgate as a coach tbh. ...the English team is decent the team needs players like Alli, Kane and the keeper to bring their A game to the WC
.....and maybe Jonjo might get selected (he has his assets tbh)

I'll put on my 1996 England shirt (purchased in England during Euro '96) and cheer for the 3 Lions (sing it!--52 years of hurt never stopped me dreaming). But it won't be the same.

Our game against Morocco is key. Glad it's the first one. It's a shame because Iran has one of their best teams in years and a decent manager. They had a tough group last WC yet could've beaten Nigeria and were very unlucky to lose to Argentina (thanks to last second Messi heroics). Here we are again in a horrible group but I can't stand Portugal, so maybe we can pop them in the mouth and I can watch CR7 cry twice in the span of a month.

Totally agreed, that's why I was so happy for 2010... until Spain won, of course. But even that was a worthy win in a kind of messy tournament; you can't say they're not one of the best teams of all time in that period between 08-12, I don't think.

I'm not a fan of Southgate either. He's from the same "old school" football we've had for years. They take the top English talent and kill the joy of the game out of them to fit the old mold. We don't want our players passing forward do we.

They shudda hired Klopp for the summer. Ooops, I didn't say that.

I think Southgate is showing more progressivity than you guys are giving him credit for.
He's built his team in the image of three of the successful clubs in the country (citeh, us, spuds) and appears to be giving his country its best chance of winning in a generation.
