Great Iintervieq. have so much respect for this guy and what he brings to the table. His heart and determination is unbeatable. Such a great signing for the club. Hopefully he finally gets his just reward Saturday.
https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...c-that-shows-just-how-durable-james-milner-is Back in 2002, a then 16-year-old Milner netted his second goal in three days during the festive period with a well-taken strike against Chelsea, which handed his boyhood club Leeds a 2-0 win over the Blues – the strike came just days after he netted against Sunderland on Boxing Day. In that 2-0 win, Milner came up against World Cup winner Marcel Desailly, who was part of the 1998 tournament with France. Fast forward 17 years, and the Leeds academy graduate is still doing the business against one of France’s latest World Cup winners, Kylian Mbappe. Milner scored home and away against Mbappe’s Paris Saint-Germain side in the Champions League this season, a competition that he has since gone on to win as Liverpool recorded a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the final. Remarkably, Mbappe was born 30 years after Desailly, showing just how long Milner has been competing at the top level of football as well as being an instrumental player in games too. Intriguingly, he is showing no signs of slowing down either with Liverpool set to offer him a new contract.
Mner was an absolutely brilliant signing. A part of me (the MLS part) was wishing Liverpool would think he's past it and let him go to my MLS club. Glad to see teyre rewarding his leadership and effort with a contract.
I'm thinking that both he and the club were waiting for the Leeds result. Them losing out meant that he decided to stick with us.
good point cap. makes sense. I'm hoping he'll stay at LFC until he retires from playing and then moves into a coaching position. the guy is remarkable and you couldn't find a better role model for incoming / upcoming players.
The boring old man signed an extension until the summer of ‘22: https://www.espn.com/soccer/liverpo...ilner-contract-extension-until-summer-of-2022
wonderful news. our captain, the brave heart and the Joker of team who's ready to play in any position. he has been one of the most favorite players for me and no doubt he's as important as any player in Klopp's team.
https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...s/andy-robertson-teases-james-milner-17512577 Liverpool midfielder James Milner is celebrating his 34th birthday, and his team-mate Andy Robertson has shared a teasing picture to mark the occasion. The Scotsman has taken to social media to post a comical image of Milner on his special day. .................... Milner has now played more games for Liverpool (204) than any of his former clubs, and could feature against Everton in the FA Cup third round this Sunday.

159 - James Milner has now overtaken Peter Crouch for the most substitute appearances in Premier League history. Interesting. #LIVNEW— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) April 24, 2021
Millie the machine! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-impressive-lap-times-8km-run-pre-season.html
I hope that's just training pace and not near his race pace. 6:40 miles or 4/km isn't exactly lightning.
Yeah - but no 30-somethign footie player would need to be able to run long distance at above average speed. That's a very specific thing..... not really necessary for football.
