Maybe. But only performances will guarantee that. I have a suspicion that he will be fighting with Can for the thrusting midfielder role by the time we reach the business end of the season, though.

I wasn't sure if we had signed clyne or not. That was why I put Toure/whoever? The point is that some don't seem to think that Firmino will feature as part of a 5-man midfield. With benteke, sturridge and coutinho fit, I'm not really sure where else he would feature..... What do you see? Some kind of 4 man unbalanced midfield of coutino can hendo and milner??? Apart from anything else where does that put Ibe??? I think he has to play. I'm not so sure about benteke playing if Sturridge is fit, frankly............ But, I am indulging in guesswork at the moment.......

Milner is a perfect fit and has shown well in preseason. Emre Can may prove to be way better than both Milner and Henderson. The sky is the limit for him. At the end of the season we may look back and laugh at the fact that people were drawing up starting elevens that did not include Can. Most of the time we will play a midfield 3 of Can, Henderson, and Milner and I can't wait to see it. The only thing that could change that is if Coutinho was deployed in the midfield in favor of an extra attacker. A 3 man center midfield is what Rodgers has always preferred, whether it's a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 diamond.
I'm not. I would include him.... He was fit in his last season. Just not playing. But it is an exceptional case, I guess.
