The current USMNT being fielded will not qualify for the world cup. Full stop.

Trapp, misdiagnosed as a dmid and more importantly continually benefiting from the misguided praise of pundits and coaches invested in his MLS career, means that wishing Trapp can play dmid (defend, attacking first pass) has replaced the need to find a capable player in that position. Bradley at DM missing world cup was not lesson enough. Huh?

Tim Weah could mold his game on Auba at Dortmund/Arsenal: develop that intuitive first step to the back post, beat defenders centrally for tap ins and headers. However, he is both light years away from showing that kind of potential much less applying it, and most definitely will never show it playing on the wing for the Sarachan MLSMNT.

Weston / Adams, likely the most misdiagnosed and wishsong pair of players. Adams unfortunately has the MLS mark on him. You won't get a single solitary professional analysis for his game but it is immature, staccatic and lacking in consistency and continuity. Passing turnover, backpass, side pass, win ball, mishit, bad first touch, nice flair, run, lose ball, foul, etc... He is a child with talent wished into a great talent and superior technique.

Weston has slowly worked his way down the pecking order at Schalke04 for the same reason every american works his way down: he doesn't have a creative, attacking pass in him. You could mark it out in crayon 5,000 times and he still wont develop a brain fast enough to make the attacking pass when needed. Neither did Bradley.

The guys I feel sorry for are Sargent and CP. Sargent because he is a true talent and he will spend all his time holding up, back tracking, creating, passing, defending and setting up inferior finishers to mishit and mishandle and CP because he will have to carry the team early, often and likely will see a career ending injury because of it.

MB and Altidore will have to step in and save the day at the last minute.

No matter how many cans you change and how many commercials you show, you still always get Bud Light. MLS the Bud Light of world soccer. Michael Bradley's legacy to US soccer is to always play him or some version of him at dmid despite the evidence that Bud Light tastes like crap and serves to just get you fat and lonely and miss the world cup.

Not to be a dick, but WT90 and MB90 share a common complexion and background in comparison to the rest of the team in front of the backline.

    Quick questions.

How many Mexican Americans play soccer in the USA? Let's say conservatively millions.

How many on the US team?

I am ok with above board racism but it is even more insidious. MLSNT does not want any competition from Liga MX.

Anyway add racism as anti-competitive marketing to your favorite USsoccer characteristics.

Other than being the player most like Michael Bradley, why exactly was Trapp named captain of this team?

Seriously Dan Garber why did you make him captain?

OMG, I think I’m going to vomit ... “Trapp, Sarachan added, is a blend of Bradley and former U.S. midfielder Chris Armas ...”

Two chickens running around with their heads cut off. Sam you are so right about US dmids.
