    Rodney Kongolo to Heereveen.

Moved to England (Manchester City) when he was 16 y.o. (that was 4 years ago), and failed to make an impact...

When will these kids ever learn to stay close to home, and not to chase big money?:unsure:

Ferdi Kadioglu will play next season at Fenerbache. I hope he will not opt to play for the Turkish team.

I've been saying this for quite some time, Groeneveld has everything to become a Dutch star. He Scored two goals today for Brugge.

Dutch U21, but can still choose to represent Nigeria (born there). Hopefully he continues to bang goals. Dutch NT is a little low on winger/striker at present. Need more to step up!

Pretty solid U21 selection. Hopefully the new coach van de Looi can get the most out of this.

Several exciting players who have been getting consistent minutes in their respective teams... Idrissi and Koopmeiners (AZ), Bijlow (Feyenoord), Dumfries and Rosario (PSV), Groeneveld (Brugge) - I think most of them have decent chance to debut in the NT Senior team this season, if they keep improving.

And there are some good "wildcards" - those with outside potential to fill in the pipeline: Eiting, van Drongelen, Bacuna, Nieuwkoop, Kadioglu and Malen.

    **************************************************************************************

Indy Groothuizen (ADO Den Haag), Carel Eiting (Ajax), Oussama Idrissi (AZ), Teun Koopmeiners (AZ), Thomas Ouwejan (AZ), Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld (Club Brugge), Rick van Drongelen (Hamburger SV ), Juninho Bacuna (Huddersfield Town), Gervane Kastaneer (NAC Breda), Jay-Roy Cave (VVV Venlo), Joël Drommel (FC Twente), Ferdi Kadioglu (Fenerbahce), Bart Nieuwkoop (Feyenoord), Justin Bijlow (Feyenoord), Jeremiah St.Juste (Feyenoord), Kevin Diks (Fiorentina), Richairo Živković (KV Oostende), Bart Ramselaar (PSV), Denzel Dumfries (PSV), Donyell Malen (PSV), Yanick van Osch (PSV), Pablo Rosario (PSV) ), Pelle Clement (Reading FC), Michel Vlap (SC Heerenveen), Sam Lammers (SC Heerenveen), Pelle van Amersfoort (SC Heerenveen) and Justin Hoogma (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)

the only flaws I can see in this selection is the lack of depth in that left back position.Thomas Ouwejan is only natural Playing left back in that selection and most probably van drongelen as make shift back up. this would have been a good stage to develop players in areas which also needs reinforcement in NT. Pierie has been playing consistently at LB for Heerenveen, but he is more a CB. Malacia at Feyenoord also had had a break through under GVB. Im jus gutted to see Bakker playing for Jong ajax. he by all means should have been in this squad but unfortuantely its looks the selections is based on players who are playing at higher level.

Your expectations are high. I hope you'll be right: we have a real deficit of good strikers.

  16. The KNVB has issued a ban on FC Twente playing goalie van Drommel for refusing to play in the Young Orange squad, where he's 3d on the bench, while Twente has a league match to play.
If I was Twente I would sue the KNVB/FIFA/UEFA for this rule, as it is in direct conflict with the freedom of the player's choice and in conflict with the right that no one can interfere in the labour relation of a player and his employer.
This way of behaviour of the KNVB/FIFA/UEFA is akin to forced labour. The legal departments of those KNVB/FIFA/UEFA bloody well know that when threatened with the European Court they donot stand a chance.

I noticed that until the age of 17, our young players are among the best in Europe, but from 18 they do not progress anymore.

Read that England u19 was in near full strength, while Holland u19, for whatever reason, benched the key, highly-touted talents... Kik Pierie, Myron Boadu, Sepp van den Berg, Ludovit Reis, and Daishwan Redan. The only "recognized" name in the lineup was Ryan Gravenberch (he was instrumental in Euro u17 last Spring), and maybe (borderline) Jurgen Ekkelenkamp.

Only watched the highlights. England had some very good players from the EPL on their squad. Looked like both sides had good opportunities to score but did not. Til should have done better on the open shot he had. Maybe this was a fair result against a very good team.

I just looked at the UEFA website for the U-21 lineups. Was Bergwijn injured? He was not listed as participating and the reason Koeman did not select him was because of the importance of this match.

EDIT: Dutch will have a tough time qualifying as only the top four second place teams qualify for the playoffs and six second place teams are currently ahead on points. They really needed a result yesterday.
