This age group looks spectacular. Strength especially in midfield and up front. Redan and Brobbey are both special talents. I don't see why we shouldn't win this tournament (though anything can happen in the knockout stages).
It really would be special to win this tournament and send a message to other Euro NTs that the Dutch are not falling asleep at the wheel!!
If we beat Ireland (an opponent who beat us recently in u19 during the playoffs), we will face the host country, England. The English have won almost all international competitions in recent years.
The Irish are only defending. It is lamentable to see young people play like that. At this age the minimum is to have fun playing.
Yeah, they are playing a crappy 4-5-1 and I guess are hoping to catch the Dutch upfield and then snatch a goal. Dutch are trying too many long balls which won't work against a team that is just defending.
