I agree. We were naive and didn't do the intangibles to win a game. They had a #9 who took an easy goal well. We made things hard for ourselves. #2 was a fluke and #3 was a breakaway where Rotundo even outhought himself. Kinda a stupid play to just kick it forward when our players were all over the place. Mexico deserved to win, they were a good side, But they didn't outplay us off the pitch. They were bigger and stronger and had 3 easy goals and put them away. We had one cleared off the line. I just like our first touch on these players and general skill. It can be a good group going forward if it works on its weaknesses, team tactics, finds a forward or two, works on its physicality. I personally thought Craig was poor at RB. Would like to see him at DM or CB. And a slow, weak tricky playmaker playing outside back or wide forward. Torres was wasted out wide.
The US U15s beat England in PK shootout after it ended 1-1 in regulation. Apparently Hot had both the goal in regulation and the clinching PK. Starting lineup was: Alguera; Cortez, Leza, Martinez, Craig; Yohannes, Hot, Perez; Koleosho, Oliva, Cordova.
Lineup vs. Norway: Alguera; Cortez, Leone, Martinez, Tanton; Rodriguez, Rotundo, Torres; Cisneros, Brummett, Oliva
Word is out that there may be a CONCACAF U15 team being put together. Can anyone confirm and do we think it will be the same team as Italy, since no camps have occurred since then?
It'd make sense. If the U17 Concacaf championships are still a thing, they'd happen in about a month.
Looks like we need a new U-15 thread. Is a new cycle starting soon? Is now a good time to start up a new thread?
Just did some quick and dirty Googling. Looks like the CONCACAF U-15 Championship is a quadrennial tournament and the next one won’t be held until 2021.
A quadrennial U15 tournament? That’s hilarious. Anyone have a line on any guys who will be U12s in 2021 who might be able to play up???
Hey, I just started a new 2019-2020 thread for the U-15s because it looks like CONCACAF is having a Championship next month. I'm thinking the Wikipedia page was incorrect about the quadrennial thing.
