We have to protect the human race against nazism, it doesnt matter if they are from Mexico, Bolivia, or Africa. We have to find a way to solve these problem without extremism.
My wife started talking about this shortly after I read ASF's post, so EVERYone should rep that great post. We're soccer fans, so we're far more likely to have permanent residents as friends or family than the Average Joe.
If I may detour, what are the odds Charlotte or Raleigh get a team? If I end up staying in the southeast, I'd like to have more options than the Mickey Mouse Fan Club to see live soccer.
I dunno. I think both markets are pretty weak on their own. Charlotte isn't THAT big and already has an NBA and an NFL team. The Triangle spends a ton of sports dollars on college sports, and we have an NHL team. If I were MLS, I wouldn't put a team in either market (based on what I know.) There are so many better options. A team in either place is going to draw like the MLS 1.0 teams, not the 2.0 teams. IF IF IF the Hurricanes leave Raleigh, then the Triangle might become a quality candidate. The Canes have been the worst franchise in the league since they won the Cup. There was still buzz around the team in, say, their 5th straight year and 7th out of 8 seasons of not making the playoffs. But the last couple of years have seen the fans give up. Attendance was typically 15th-20th in the league when the team was mediocre. Now that we aspire, full of hope, to attain mediocrity, we're last by a very large margin. IOW, the team might leave because they've poisoned the market. But that is the fault of a the current and previous GMs who stunk. That ain't the fault of the market. If an MLS team comes to the Triangle, there's a reasonable chance it will do well and drive a stake into the heart of the Hurricanes. But there's also a reasonable chance that the Canes rebound and keep an MLS team from ever getting a foothold. Columbus and the Triangle are very close comparisons. White collar areas, not traditional pro markets, state capitol, huge college sports fandom, and an NHL team. No disrespect, but the days when the Nordecke rocked are gone. Why would MLS add another CCSC? Do you think the Blue Jackets hurt the Crew? Because that's a relevant analogy that MLS should look at when evaluating the Triangle. If MLS decides to think about the "footprint," I think Raleigh is a better bet than Charlotte. There's a bit more buy-in here, and we're not as saturated. In my view, MLS can grow two ways. They can start building venues in the ~30,000 range rather than the ~20,000 range, and they can start getting significant revenue from local TV. Either or both. The two NC markets are pretty bad candidates for the former. They might be pretty good for the latter. There are a bunch of sports fans in both markets who have nothing to watch between the first Monday in April and the first college football game around Labor Day.
MLS most likely will never have a soccer team in the Carolinas, I live here, soccer is too diverse for these small cities with closed minded people.
I have been talking to a Trump supporter on Facebook. He keeps claiming illegals can get Obamacare. I told him that I was an Obamacare enrolled agent when I was doing social work, that illegals cannot get Obamacare. I think he is about to delete me from Facebook, he is from Charlotte, he used to live next to me in college.
This probably would be better in the War on Drugs thread, but I couldn't find it. Why do we have to secure our border? Because if we don't, someone will smuggle in a nuke inside of a bale of marijuana. Why would nuke smugglers hide it inside something that drug sniffing dogs can easily identify? What kind of question is that? Are you in ISIS? http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trent-franks-marijuana-border-nuclear-weapon
Theoretically, sure, it's a possibility - but the reality is more along the lines of path of least resistance. Unless you're worried about local Canadian cells, ISIS would need to bring anything into Canada first, which means smuggling across two similarly controlled borders - which means they're far more likely to ship it into the US directly.
Whatever. You guys let anybody in. You're lawless Communist sympathizers. Cuck-nadian, more like it. #cantbeatemjoinem
Reminds me of a historical parody porn I saw once about the Revolutionary War where Paul Revere nails Betsy Ross, played by Nina Hartley
Because the world is not only about the USA. Xenophobia in South Africa. Trump would be so proud. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-39076751
This happened in 2008 when Zimbabwe hyperinflation caused an exodus of migrants. The party of Mandela has morphed too quickly into the party of Zuma.
This is not good: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...to-federal-agents_us_58afea33e4b060480e06a435 Passenger Kelley Amadei told New York’s local NBC News station that as Delta flight 1583 was taxiing to the gate around 8:30 p.m, an attendant told travelers to get their identification documents ready for review. Before passengers even stepped onto the jet bridge, they were met by two officers from CBP. The incident prompted some passengers on the flight from San Francisco to share images of the ordeal online, amid increased tensions after President Donald Trump’s administration issued a wide-ranging set of orders instructing officials to quickly deport undocumented immigrants.
