I just watched the documentary & it brought back a lot of memories. I was a kid when those events in Colombia were taking place. Since I grew up in the States and my neighbors at one time were from Colombia, my mom's friend, and the other Colombians in our lives, I was exposed to the news either from them or watching Univision with Jorge Ramos with my parents everyday. The images of the violence, the escape and hunt for Pablo Escobar, and the murder of Andres brought it all back.

Just watched the documentary as well. Cant believe the killer is free.

Does anyone know if the killer is still alive or if he is in hiding?

I am sure columbian soccer fans might have some update.

man, you're on our own thread and you still misspell Colombia? It's Colombian dude. I'm 26, and I still have to correct people on this, it's frustrating.

he paid his days--- you talking about a crime that happened long time ago.
the law in many parts of the world protects the the 'work' of body guards, this animal and his lawyer were able to make that connection clearly before the courts.

Sorry about the mispelling. I just thought I would at least give it a shot to find out if anyone had any information on this killer. I do think there are alot of atletico nacional fans that actually might be able to give some update.

    Thanks so much

I guess you mean he is alive and safe? The killer is being protected? by a cartel or goverment or both.

he paid 33% of the penalty,of 40 years
under colombian law, at the time of sentence that was the max. for murder
but, the guy was a body guard on duty at the time of crime, plus education and good behavior in jail, he got out!!

I say 'seguro'....as I am sure he is free.
but protected by no one.....he most likely lives far away from the city under a different name (just a guess)

now the max. sentence is 60 yrs for atrocities or so....Murders
law evolves with times in colombia. No death sentences there yet.

Thank you for the information. I am still suprised that nobody from colombia hasnt hunted this guy down and took care of him. My guess is he got out of the country as fast as he could. Makes me angry as hell. Damn someone should post a large reward down there for information.

Crazy dude seemed like such a great guy/athlete. It's just some drunk asshole with a gun ended all that. Wish they had never been invented think people be less likely to fight if we had to use swords and actually know how to swing them.

This has hurt our image for a long time still when people bring up Colombian soccer they always mention him almost 20 years later.
