Ok...but if you're ever in the Berkshires Teo's and The Hot Dog Ranch in Pittsfield Ma are worth a try. They serve locally made Whorle's mini natural casing dogs that are hard to beat. The owner of Teo's is a team mate on the O/40+ soccer team with my son. '15 and '16 Champeens!
I think it is a WEE BIT more that 'this part" that Trump clearly does not understand. But it is clear that he does not understand this, either.
I would Italian Beef is "where it's at" in Chicago. Even better, a combo (Italian Beef and Italian Sausage). Even even better, a combo with peppers. Even even even better, a cheezy beef combo with peppers and mozzarella. I will say, I am not the biggest fan of the double dipped, as they become too messy.
I used to go there when I was in high school! The hot dogs were about half the size of a regular one, and they cost a whole 30 cents each. Good times!
C'mon...yeah with the peppers but where are the grilled mushrooms and onions? As a kid my pal and I would skip school on Labor Day Week to go to the Eastern States Exposition in Wspfld Ma and jump the fence so as to save our meager coin to buy an Italian sausage grinder with the above ingredients. Ambrosia!!
I was back there last summer and lunched at Teo's. 3 dogs w/chili, onions and mustard washed down w/a rootbeer. They're about a buck now. Still yummy!
NO, never would they put mushrooms and onions on an Italian Beef! That, sir, is an abomination and an affront to the Italian Beef. In 40 years of eating Italian Beef, I have never heard such blasphemy. It is clear that you have never had the lovely, simple perfection that is Italian Beef. I feel very, very sorry for all of you who have missed out. Now, Italian Sausage "grinders" can have any manner of things. Me? I prefer red sauce and melted mozz. However, I make a mean Sausage and Peppers (which includes grilled onions). I frequently make a platter of it for parties. Mushrooms? Disgusting fungus unfit for human consumption. However, I could see someone enjoying sauteed onions and mushrooms on an Italian Sausage.
Grinders is a W. Mass term for Hoagies, Subs, Heros, Po'Boys and whatever else you might call them. Also, you can get a hamburg or a cheeseburg, depending on what you like...
Yes, you are right. I cannot see how anyone would enjoy mushrooms (the disgusting fungus unfit for human consumption) on an Italian Sausage and I certainly would not want to see it. Thank you for allowing me to correct my previous statement.
Grrrr....as an Italian [once removed] I have a beef with your post. Having said that...to each his own. Please tell me you don't put ketchup on your steak...lie if you have to!
You may have a "beef" with my post, but it is not to each his own when it comes to Italian Beef. There are only three ways to have it, and NONE involve mushrooms. Of course, I don't put ketchup on steak. That is a ridiculous notion and a waste of steak (as is eating steak well done). You know who DOES put ketchup on his steaks? http://www.eater.com/2017/2/27/14748346/donald-trump-ketchup-steak
North Korea continues to troll Trump. Another attempted missile launch - failed yet again. Wonder how many people get hung or eaten by ravenous dogs every time a missile launch goes awry in NoKo.
In an attempt to keep this thread on topic....when I was in H.S. Friendly's [before they went regional and started serving crappy food] used to make their cheeseburgers by grilling 2 slices of bread w/cheese and slapping a rare burger between. Awesome....then they tried to get fancy.
I was a bit surprised when we moved here to see grinder shops downtown and elsewhere. I knew the term because my wife is from Rhode Island.
I would say there are at least a few . . . "For the first time ever, Meyer coached a team that failed to score a point. They were thoroughly dominated in a 31-0 defeat to the Tigers. Clearly, this was the first time Meyer’s team didn’t have any answers. More importantly, their aura of invincibility may have taken a hit. They may no longer receive the benefit of the doubt." http://therunnersports.com/ohio-state-buckeyes-underachieved-urban-meyer/
I swear the next person that insults mushrooms will be reported to the relevant authorities. That sort of subversive fake news undermines the very fabric of our society.
That's a really, really dumb article. Last year was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Ohio State since we were the youngest team with the fewest returning starters in college football and we managed to get into the playoffs. Ask any Ohio State fan if Meyer has underachieved (which is what this article claims), and they'll laugh at you. There's no question the offense regressed in the second half of the season, which is why the offensive staff was overhauled. But given that Ohio State is basically the unanimous pick to win the Big 10 this year and is recruiting remarkably well (as it did last year, despite the Clemson loss), I don't see any loss of invincibility. It was a bad game against a very good team, and yes, our offense was bad.
"I hire the best people, unless someone else vetted them first - then fired them." Anyway - defend this @JamieBmore ? All of Trumps lies in the first 100 days. "Trump has been in office for 99 days. As of our latest update on day 98, we’ve counted 452 false or misleading claims. The most frequent topic of these claims is jobs, which came up 89 times. Other frequent topics are immigration (62 claims) and foreign policy (61 claims)."
You ever goto Coney Island Hot dog? Used to do that about once a month. Any more and my heart would have walked out of my body in protest.
