Well....no need to get snippy! How was I to know the Spanish Armada was rife with leaky boats. History was much easier to remember back in my day as there was a lot less of it.
I've always mentally pushed back a bit on the idea that the cruelty is the point but this genuinely proves that the cruelty is the point. There's no other reason to pardon these people other than to signal to the country that our military has the green light to declare open season on brown people. This is actively evil, and I don't say that lightly.
Agreed, that is exactly the point. I remember a few weeks ago, there was a discussion about the cruelty of this administration. This is yet an other clear example.
I don't know if cruelty is the point, or sheer naked tribalism. You touch a white American girl, we will scream murder. We shoot a foreign girl, by God we will not apologize. I call that burn in hell evil. They call it evangelical values. We differ, to put it mildly.
It's obvious that the point is to be yelled out loud that an Iraq life is less than an American one. If I were a Iraqi official or politician there would be no contest in picking an alliance between either the US or Iran.
Would you be a Sunni politician or a Shia politician, because you may have to pick Saudi Arabia if you were the first.
Does it have to be one of the other and not both? The two concepts can certainly co-exist. There's little doubt Trump both feeds off of tribalism and has hatred of brown people.
It'll be interesting if Fox pump up Mayor Pete and then he gets out of control Buttigieg on Trump: "It is the nature of grotesque things that you can't look away." pic.twitter.com/OUiBF9DOxM— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) May 19, 2019
Stuff you can't make up In addition to $8.5 billion given to aid farmers affected by his trade war, Trump on Sunday suggested that farms not have to verify worker immigrant status. https://t.co/Tml4O183kv— Philip Bump (@pbump) May 20, 2019
It'll be interesting if that was possible, but this is Fox, so no, they're not letting it get out of control: As Fox faced disaster, Democratic presidential candidates bailed it out. And now the network will pay them back by doing whatever it can to undermine their message and ensure their defeat.— Matthew Gertz (@MattGertz) May 20, 2019
If you insert all Trump's activities into a logic machine, the machine would explode due to the conflicting nature of everything.
I'm not sure I remember who Mollie Tibbetts is. Was she one of the victims of the Bowling Green massacre, or did she get killed in Benghazi?
I saw a stat that said 20% of the FOX audience are Democrats, which means doing a debate on FOX means you'll reach more constituents than by going on CNN. And that said, going on MSNBC is going to sway and voters.
They'll trot out Shep Smith or Wallace for the appearance of impartiality. And then get blasted as Donk commies during the nightly Bund Block. Fvck Fox News from now to eternity
