That would have been approximately 250 times less offensive. Still offensive, but not nearly as offensive.
The casual usage of the word belies his "It's not in my vocabulary" excuse. My wife's Texan relatives, wealthy business people who move in the Bush circles, stun us at times when that word comes out in casual conversation.
Caught him, allegedly... https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/ch...schools-today-2019-03-22-live-stream-updates/ 17 years old. Claims he's Portuguese.
Maybe it's this yoot: When Alex, now a high-school senior, saw an Instagram account he followed post about something called QAnon back in 2017, he’d never heard of the viral conspiracy theory before. But the post piqued his interest, and he wanted to know more. So he did what your average teenager would do: He followed several accounts related to it on Instagram, searched for information on YouTube, and read up on it on forums. A year and a half later, Alex, who asked to use a pseudonym, runs his own Gen Z–focused QAnon Instagram account, through which he educates his generation about the secret plot by the “deep state” to take down Donald Trump. “I was just noticing a lack in younger people being interested in QAnon, so I figured I would put it out there that there was at least one young person in the movement,” he told me via Instagram direct message. He hopes to “expose the truth about everything corrupt governments and organizations have lied about.” Among those truths: that certain cosmetics and foods contain aborted fetal cells, that the recent Ethiopian Airlines crash was a hoax, and that the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shootings were staged. https://www.theatlantic.com/technol...am-is-the-internets-new-home-for-hate/585382/
I don't use it, but my impression is that InstaGram is even more hostile to things like context or nuance. Am I wrong, anybody?
Just an interesting story. If many are like me and have turned the telly off for the day while the endless, useless speculation goes on....... and on, every hour on the hour. Then you may enjoy it. My dad's a Fox News watching Texan. What he said about Pete Buttigieg stunned me. https://www.dailykos.com/story/2019...-What-he-said-about-Pete-Buttigieg-stunned-me
This made me laugh... https://www.huffpost.com/entry/bord...1ovu6sgSXGOII6ygk82okqb9gNgsSUNmWl7eQ8n2nUUd8
So a bad day for democracy The House will need to get hold of this report quick so we can actually see what it is in after Barr's snow job
My honest reason. Because in its current state it is a perfect fundraising tool for both sides. Team Blue can claim shenanigans and Team Red can claim dead-horse beating. Then watch the cash roll in.
You libertarians ain't never gonna win. The Republicans sell "we will punish people who aren't like you," the Democrats sell "everybody is welcome here," and the libertarians sell ... "if you join us, you will learn how the Mueller report is merely a disguised fund raiser." No chance, pal.
Either way, it's an odd take. Surely both Teams, as you call them, care most about spin -- how this will affect their poll numbers and election prospects. Fund raising follows from having a story that sells, not vice versa.
It may not be subject to FOIA. The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has submitted FOIA requests since November, requesting information on the Mueller Report. They have all been denied. As a result, EPIC filed suit on Friday. Here is link to the Complaint, if you are interested in reading something https://epic.org/foia/doj/mueller-report/EPIC-v-DOJ-19-810-Complaint-032219.pdf
This is a story that sells for both of them. As for poll numbers, this is WWI trench warfare. A lot of carnage for minimal gain/loss.
That is the tiniest picture, by the way. The "Big picture" is that the investigation and the resulting report was intended to help restore integrity to the political system and help to ensure that elections are completed without foreign intervention.
Of course, if that was the basis of the government's denial of the FOIA request, but it was not. We will see what happens now that the Mueller Report has been issued and the lawsuit has been filed. Not everything is subject to FOIA and most things are not subject to expedited FOIA requests, which EPIC requested and was denied.
