He will be the VP of choice for most of the front runners. If not, he should be.

No way. If a Democratic president wants to get anything done, they need Senate control, and that can't happen if they voluntarily relinquish a seat that will be filled by a Republican.

Crap, don't know what I was thinking getting her name wrong...

Yeah, I agree that it was probably more the producers, but there were times on the Politics Podcast that one of the other women (not Mara) who said something about hate or White Supremacy and Ayesha held back. Not sure why as it was clear she wanted to say something along those line (a couple of times I actually said out loud to my phone, "Just say it!") but I was surprised that she did not echo what was being said.

And, yeah, I also got that form Code Switch.

If a guy is nominated, VP should be one of:
    Sen. Kamala Harris
    Sen. Elizabeth Warren
    Sen. Tammy Duckworth
No one else should be considered. All three would make a ticket stronger and none would tip the Senate balance.

If a woman is nominated, VP should be Bernie...although likely will be Beto.

Personally, I would be happy with a Harris/Warren ticket, but I think there would be a bit of backlash with an all female ticket.

That is literally the worst possible option.

Bernie needs to be shunned from the Democratic party -- not just because he's not a Dem, but because he's toxic.

And why can't we have ticket with two women? I mean seriously -- you list 3 fine women who should be VP is the nominee is a man. Their value has nothing to do with the gender of the POTUS nominee.

How ********ing sexist. This sort of thinking is what unleashed Sarah Palin.

The nation needs to heal and not sure a Sounders supporter does that.

I am ALL for a female ticket. Again, I would be very pleased with Harris/Warren or Harris/Duckworth. Either ticket would be fantastic.
I was speculating that there would be a backlash with an all female ticket.
I WANT to be wrong about that.

I am not advocating for Bernie, although he is still one of the most popular politicians in America.
I could see a winning ticket with him as VP.

I don't see him as toxic, but I am not really a fan of his.

I am glad to read that you feel this strongly, that gives me a bit of hope.

I voted Bernie in the primary 4 yrs ago but will not this year. There is a number of candidates running this year that i believe are better than him. Not to mention I am getting sick and tired of the Bernie Bros &Bots. Toxic and insufferable.
Any combination of Islee/Harris/Beto/MayorPete/Biden/Beto will do for me.

Your first 4 sentences capture my feelings.

I want Biden far far away.

I do not want to see Beto at the top of any ticket. What has he done?

I will not respond anymore in this thread. This conversation should move to 2020 thread.

Bernie's time has passed IMO. He'll still be a pain in the ass to Democrats I fear.

Well, he can write and post moronic tweets as well as he mindlessly retweets things from neo-Nazi sources. Given the current state of the GOP, I'd say he's a frontrunner.

I'd rather have two women (and I am scared two women may not beat Trump). But Bernie, is an old, addled, cliche. Donald Trump; whom I have no respect for and think is a horrible president, would beat Bernie like a drum. Putting Bernie on the ticket is one of those Dem moves that makes you think the whole game is rigged.

Biden, Beto, Booker, maybe Harris, with a well selected VP win. It is important to win this election. Look how different government is since the midterm shellacking in the house.

So: No Bernie, no Eliz Warren, no other problem candidates. Just win, baby.

Seth Abramson tweeted something a couple of months ago - one of the Democratic candidates could really set themselves apart from the field by ignoring Trump and making their whole campaign about beating Pence. The theory is that Trump will be impeached before his term is up, and by starting to talk about Pence now, (a) they'll be ahead of the pack in preparing to go up against an incumbent Pence, and (b) it will absolutely infuriate Trump, who does not like to be ignored or deemed irrelevant. And if Trump doesn't get impeached before the 2020 election, then our country is broken and nothing matters. I keep hoping one of the second tier candidates picks this up, but it hasn't happened yet.

If Seth Abramson tweeted it "a couple of months ago," he is probably still tweeting it, tweet 1,200 in the thread.

Like that guy who called Pence a cheerleader for a porn-star Presidency? Seems he read Seth's tweet. Or vice versa.

Way too early but I could see Biden & Harris if they could get along. The W is the thing. Pie in the sky can come later.
