I'll run them. Call it Bongwater. Lock Deplorables up in giant enclosures with assault weapons, unlimited ammo, pickups with no brakes, chainsaws, alcohol, meth, poisonous snakes and angry mother-in-laws.

If you rearrange the letters in the word "Mother-in-law" you get the words "Woman Hitler"

The opening monolog from Rachel Maddow was wicked tonight. I hope the Orange Orangutan was watching.

“When you are the president with the lowest average approval rating of all U.S. presidents of all time, when you are the most scandal-plagued president in the history of the country — not just since Watergate, but in the history of the country — when you have literally been named by federal prosecutors as Individual One in the commission of multiple felonies, when your business, your foundation, your inaugural committee have all come under criminal investigation while you are serving as president and your foundation, in fact, was shut down by authorities as an illegal fraud, when you literally had to start your presidency by paying a $25 million settlement to settle other totally unrelated allegations about another one of your alleged frauds, (Trump College) when your long-time personal lawyer has just gone to federal prison, when your campaign chairman is in federal prison, when your deputy campaign chairman is awaiting sentencing and so is your National Security Adviser, when literally your sister had to resign from the judiciary because of her apparent involvement in a long-running multi-million dollar criminal tax fraud scheme run by her brother, which is you, the president, when all those things are true about the sitting president, yeah, yeah, you are going to get some challengers,” Maddow noted.

I'm starting to suspect trade wars are not easy to win, but the Steel Tariffs thread may convince me otherwise.

I really hope he is taking Ivanka to the G7. That stuff is always entertaining. She can shake her fake tatas at Angela Merkel. Its like watching a Mel Brooks movie.

What I would like to see is Ivanka trying to butt into a discussion of World Leaders and have them just stop and tell her in no uncertain terms to go away, that she is not welcome in this discussion.

Just tell these fvckers you've had enough of their BS.

These tariffs are illegal. The President only has the right to unilaterally issue tariffs in times of war or national emergency, and this is no national emergency. Congress should call his bluff by voting to eliminate these tariffs, and then if it needs to go to court, then have it go to court. We can't just have Presidents declaring national emergencies during everyday times just because they want to do something.

As for the independents who complained about Obama's executive orders .... ha. This is a whole lot more egregious, and now not a peep from the indies.

There really is nothing to lose in doing this. They've gotta figure that there is a very strong chance they're only going to deal with the Asshat in Chief for another 17 months. They're not going to get anything meaningful out of discussing things with him anyway. They can't trust him. So what's the use?

And if by chance Asshat wins a second term, they'll be reconsidering the nature of their partnership with the US anyway. I had a colleague I really liked who did great work. He went through a rough patch after a divorce. He got time to sort his stuff out, but when that stretched on you kinda learn not to rely upon him...and then he was eventually cut loose.

Actually, I remember the main complaint was the continuation of the consolidation of power in the executive branch that could lead to shit like we are in now.

What are your thoughts on Trump calling himself King of Israel or the chosen one? Would Hillary had done that herself? Did Obama anoint himself Lord of the Jews?

Fair enough. I wasn't a big fan of some of Obama's executive actions, although it must also be said that they wouldn't have been necessary if the GOP hadn't been so obstructive.

As my bumper sticker says, Any Functioning Adult 2020. When the primary season gets going, I not only will have stickers for every serious Dem candidate on my car, but also Trump's Republican challenger (if he has one), and the Libertarian candidate.

Climate Change is a niche issue.... SMH!

Trump Aides Slam French for Focus on ‘Niche Issues’

New York Times: “Senior administration officials said that the agenda would center too much on issues designed to play well with Mr. Macron’s domestic audience — like climate change, income and gender equality, and African development — and was engineered to highlight disagreements with Mr. Trump’s administration.”
“They accused Mr. Macron’s aides of ignoring pleas by Trump administration officials to focus the summit, which runs through Monday, on national security and a looming economic slowdown. And they said Mr. Macron was purposely trying to fracture the Group of 7 by veering away from its longstanding mission of ensuring that the strains on other economies do not spread globally.”

Obama's actions were built on the actions of those before him, as are Trump's.

Plenty of blame to go around.

Nope. Democrats in Congress worked with Reagan. He would never have passed his tax cuts without them. Democrats in Congress worked with Bush. He would not have got his tax cuts and war without them. Not a single Republican worked with Obama. They started the fire, Democrats didn't.

OK they started it under Newt, but that only strengthens my point.
