Not revs related but just thought it was hilarious Man replaces lawn with artificial turf He's right - it is less work!
This is a re-print of an article from 4 years ago, but a very good read: US legend Walter Bahr handled fame with quiet calm, decades after iconic upset over England June 19, 2018, 12:11PM EDT Dave Zeitlin MLSsoccer.com
ATL takes six out of 11 fan-voted spots on the All Star roster. What a joke. 2018 MLS All-Star Fan XI presented by Target June 25, 2018, 8:22AM EDT Nicholas Rosano
Agreed. Not that I watch those matches anyway but watching Atlanta Utd vs whomever has even less appeal. Credit to their fans for stuffing the ballot box though.

This is just 11 of the 23 players to make the roster, with players like Almiron and Martinez being extremely deserving anyway. I don't really get the issue.
To be clear, I've got no problem with Almiron and Martinez making it, but 6 starters would be excessive. I don't want to watch an "all star" team that's the majority of any one team, even my own. The fun to me is the combination of players from many teams, but that's just my personal preference. Make sense?
I'm just saying that in all likelihood it's going to be 2 or 3 starters (I'd guess Guzan, Almiron, and Martinez).

Unless there's other corroborating news out there I have missed, this was in jest...but made me pay attention at least for a moment. Hey the New England Revolution is also looking for a GM. Watching a stream of the red bulls game, it's the NY broadcast (horible) and they mention Penilla being on loan with an option to buy. Made me realize that Penilla is 1/2 signings that may or may not pan out.
The video montage that showed all 100 of BWP's goals was pretty cool. But it left me wishing we had one of those for Twellman...
Someone made revs goals highlights by year which isn't only Twellman of course, but he did a lion's share of scoring. Here's the 2007 video
🚨Special Experience Alert! 🚨The #NERevs and @SantanderBankUS invites kids ages 5-17 to a Public Clinic hosted at @GilletteStadium on August 17th. ⚽️ Get ready for a fun evening filled with soccer drills, games, and Revolution players! Nevertheless, a very fun event for my then-young kids.— A Casual Fan (@A_Casual_Fan) August 3, 2018 From a few years back -
Those of you that are also stats geeks might find this interesting. The only team that holds the ball less time than the Revs is RBNY. Inspired by @PaulCarr's article this morning, here are possession characteristics for each team in MLS this season. Atlanta is on the ball longest per possession, while NYCFC has the most passes per possession. Red Bulls are the lowest for each (as expected). pic.twitter.com/8yI80HvQpb— Eliot McKinley (@etmckinley) August 8, 2018
Reading graphs 101: the graph axis compare passes completed to length of individual possesions, not total time of possession. This means that the revs play a very direct style and either shoot or lose the ball quickly. It goes to show that possession isnt the end all be all stat for predicting success. Although the revs dont hold the ball much, they create attacking 3rd turnovers which is probably the mostly valuable kind of possession. Honestly, watching the revs try to build up slowly from the back is actually pretty painful, whether its defenders making poor decisions or cm giving the ball away. The style the play cedes possession by design, so it makes sense for them to rate poorly in thst metric.
I can see how the revs and rbny are similar as there's typically not a lot of possession when you're focused on quick counters. NYRB has just that little bit more class and ability to hold on to the ball whereas the revs are more prone to turnovers at midfield or in the final third. It's subtle but this shows the revs lack that final pass.
