That is definitely what I meant. I agree that we're a lot better at many different spots on the field this year. I would love to see us lift MLS cup, but IF WE DON'T, I want somebody to lose their job, and somebody better to take it. that's all.

Another shock, the future Austin Neckbeards FC dropped 7 places from 13 to 20.

Nemeth with the biggest raise, now the highest paid on the team at $900K base.

Anibaba ($90K) and Turner ($68K) the best bargains.

Agreed. I'm glad he will be on. Any transparency into rev FO decision making is progress, if small.

If he delivers some of that, then time well spent.

But, he is a fascinating picture of unease/discomfort in many of his on-camera appearances, which at this point in his tenure as a sr. manager of an American sports franchise continues to surprise.

That's to me what is interesting about his appearances, especially since he doesn't actually offer up too much transparency - certainly not any of the forward-looking kind.

Well, I can't really fault the guy if he's not all that comfortable on camera. Some people are more introverted and I don't know a lot of people who really like seeing themselves on video. Back in the day, he was always reserved and guarded around the media. Some might say aloof, defensive, detached and wanting to be anywhere else in the world than there. As the captain of a new team trying to establish itself, he definitely wasn't suited for that role. Fortunately, there were much more outgoing guys like Lalas and a few others who had more media-friendly personalities. A lot of the conversations I had with players then was asking about their experiences playing in different places, and while Burns had as his share of experiences, he never nibbled to share an amusing anecdote or two.

On the other hand, Steve Ralston was the very textbook definition of a quiet, soft-spoken introvert, and while he probably didn't enjoy being in the spotlight, he handled it well and was always willing to speak honestly and intelligently to anyone who respected him on his own terms. That means instead of shouting questions at him or aggressively approaching him when he was obviously occupied, wait until he was settled and approach him one-on-one for a conversation.

Not faulting him per-se, just observing that folks in his role elsewhere are for the most part comfortable on camera and fielding questions. He is an outlier in that regard.

Just another variable contributing to how he and the team is perceived.

I loved the 19th Century letter-writing style of trash-talk. Talk about a lost art! That, and how all these people moved away from Seattle because of bad coffee....

We've talked about Cameron occasionally. I'm a little concerned he's past his sell-by date.

He wouldn't be worth the $$$ it would take to sign him.

Add at this point, he's not a position of primary need. I like our 3 center backs of Dielna, Delamea and Anibaba. He could play outside back, but that would be a big player for a lower-impact position. And, we're pretty set at DM too.

Not sure how many people caught it, but our backup AM started and played pretty well (at least the part I've watched so far) against Argentina's best. Hope Friedel's staff got to watch it.

Zachy posed for pictures afterwards with Messi, DiMaria, etc.

I'd kill to bring Bobby Wood into the team. Have bunbury as an optional late game sub. I know its a bit of a pipe dream. Hamburger (LOL) SV paid 4mill pounds for him in 2016.

As you know, Hamburg have just suffered the dreaded Abstieg. They will be in rebuilding mode. So Wood might be available. The bad news is that as a USMNT player, he would have to go through the allocation process, wouldn't he?
