In wars, there is always risk to your soldiers. A good commander will try to mitigate the risk so far as possible.

However, offloading the risk from your soldiers onto the civilian population when your soldiers are not even on the battlefield, like the drone policy does, is a cowardly way of fighting a war, in the truest sense of the word. Might as well chain women and children to your Armoured Personnel Carriers whilst you're at it.

Is a response to guerrilla warfare, Terrorist attacks are a cowardly way to fight a war, but the logical way when facing overwhelming force.

Sending soldiers can turn into a Mogadishu, Somalia thing, lots of civilians also died then, but from a western POV (USA) too many American soldiers died. (and I am sure you also would not be a fan of 400 Mogadishu in place of 400 drone strikes).

for political reasons, dying American soldiers is not acceptable, civilians dying of collateral damage, more acceptable, so drone policy is what we get.

Maybe we should ask why that is rather than blithely go about perpetuating the situation because it's "convenient" and less messy (to us).

Because dead civilians in far away lands is not as "exiting" as #RoevWade, #metoo, #taxcuts4therich for the voting public.

Shit as you well know, Yemen war was a dead topic in the mind of the American people until the King of Saudi Arabia decided to go full Sopranos on a journalist, then people "cared" about Yemen for about 5 minutes.

By ongoing catastrophe are you referring to what is going on in the US? As ********ed up as things are here they are in no way catastrophic compared to so many places.

Rwanda, Iraq, Myanmar, Gaza...those are proper examples of catastrophes. Whining about the Current state of affairs in this country...********ing spoiled.

I had a friend seized by ICE this weekend. That would not have happened if people like Timon weren't so myopic and selfish.

Yeah, that would be nice. Have your little sister drop it off when she comes over tonight.

According to our hallucinating German one of the crowd lurking to kill him and fellow Europeans.

This man is a hero. He gave his life yesterday in an attemp to save the life of a 75 year old woman that ended with her car in the river.
Salih Uğur Papadoğan, the 51 year old Rotterdammer, people like our shit German constantly insults with accusations, only because he's part of a certain group of people.
The MO of the nazis to implicate all people to a certain trait that qualifies them as a danger to all others.
Give me a thousand of this man for every W/B character.

What does that event have to do with me?

Evidently, being anti-war makes a despised (ICE is a pox) agency do bad things to people.
    Sure thing.

They obviously catch the whities before they can kill if possible, so our German can blame the others for the dead in the street.

Well, certainly not as a Jew. I don't know if you're visibly identifiable as either, so take that for whatever you will.

If you're willing to underestimate the threat against ME because Worse Somewhere Else, then the point is still missing you. No ********ing body signed up here in the USA to be the target of the level of dehumanization we're seeing today, and your dismissive attitude isn't keeping BBQ Becky away from anyone's door.

It's my understanding that Norgay/Mallory probably summited and died on the way back down. Are you sure Tenzing was wearing a Rolex?

Jews aren't at risk in this country? The FBI's reporting doesn't seem to jibe with your beliefs. As far as whether or not I am identifiable as either, since the horn and tail removal surgery the only clear signs I'm a Jew would be the stereotypical nose and some ink that is pretty visible. The Latino side is not as obvious though most people within minutes of meeting me figure out I probably wasn't born here. Take that for whatever you will.

I don't feel that my post in any way underestimated the threat to you, me or any other group. As bad as things are in this country I still believe it can be much much worse and may inch closer to it but when all is said and I done I also believe things will get much better.

With regards to your assertion that I have a dismissive attitude. Your reply that as a Jew I am not at risk...well that is a dismissive attitude.

Norgay reached the summit with Hillary. Mallory was with Irvine when they died and new research from the U of Toronto makes the best case of any position that the two did not in fact make the summit of Everest.

Regarding the Rolex, Tenzing Norgay was most definitely wearing a Rolex. After the 1952 Swiss expedition Rolex presented him a Rolex and as part of the 1953 expedition Rolex also provided the climbing team of which TN was a part of another watch.

I accepted your entire post as dismissive of the situation here, and therefore saw no reason to exclude Jews from that position. I absolutely believe you're underwhelmed by what's happening to folks who fit the mold even less than you do.

The bolded... yes. Yes, it can. It's going to. Better get on board the Train Of Perpetual Victimhood (before anybody goes there, lol) while there's still room.

    I stand corrected.

I'm a little tired for a quick game of victimization tonight:D The truth is that our pasts/histories are probably more similar than dissimilar so please don't think I am being dismissive. Something tells me we aren't going to change each others mind so...

Some of my most admired athletes of all time were mountaineers and you already know I'm a Rolex/bike/music geek so it was easy to connect the dots. Check out Jake's Rolex World, some quality reading and watch porn is second to none.
