Am I correct? There was no Chelsea v Spurs match thread? I had to watch delayed and avoided BS... guess I didn't need to do that... First half better than second for both teams, draw seems fair. Next!
I'm happy with the point in a difficult match. A couple of relatively easy games coming up, so hopefully everyone can catch their breath, maybe rotate the squad a little.
Chelsea are't a big game any more Early Sunday start with Mourinho playing for 0-0 against our players tired legs from the Thursday game, was always going to be a bad one.
was able to watch most of the match but didn't have computer handy so I never got around to posting anything about the match myself. ppls comments above fairly sum it up tho. looked OK 1st half but 2nd half I think spurs tired a bit - weren't getting to the ball, and were just a bit sluggish in moving it around when in possession. fair result and after the Euro match at Qarabag and with Alli not available, draw is reasonable I suppose
Not quite sure where to post this on your threads but thought this was a really good read on Pochettino. Apologies if it's already been posted somewhere http://twentyminutereads.com/2015/12/27/the-sheriff/
In the papers; Watford want to buy Townsend and have lodged a bid of £10m. Levy is holding out for £14m. Townsend wants a loan so he'll have more options in the summer.
Perhaps a little insight into what is going on behind the scenes at THFC via The Guardian. Here's a snippet from the Supporters' Trust minutes cited in the article. It's in regards to the January transfer window: DL also explained that transfer funds would be available should MP identify a player he felt could improve our squad. Funds had been available in January. MP was not a manager who believed that by simply spending, the squad would be improved. The decision to not sign a striker was MP’s, and although he would have perhaps liked a young striker, he will only sign a player of the quality that can make a difference.
Wow, he doesn't appear to suffer from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) or the pressure to conform to norms. In Soccer, it is the norm of you must spend and make transfers to be a competitive organization. Interesting, and rare.
It makes sense to not bring somebody in just for the sake of having another body. If they don't pan out, you need to off load them onto somebody else later, wasting time and possibly money. It must be nice to have the luxury of thinking about the long term and not buying in a panic.
wasn't sure if it was for here, but... spurs (and leicester) vs germany 3:2 - wonderful goals from kane, dier and vardy
smart move, going with the in form players rather than the usual suspects and this at half time: Dele Alli has probably been the best player on the pitch. That's what Germany's former World Cup-winning captain Lothar Matthaus, working as a pundit for ITV, reckons. High praise indeed...
I think all 4 Spurs players have played their way into the starting 11 for the Euros tonight. Alli was brilliant apart from that miss, Dier anchored things together nicely and won it, Rose offered great width and the big stage didn't faze him one bit. And as for Harry Kane, he only pulled off a textbook Cruyff turn to score. Shame that Kyle Walker isn't going to make it a nice round 5. Clyne was excellent tonight.
