Hmm i don't know. Religion often includes the practice of rituals. Atheists don't do this.

Thus, you get things like, "I'm not descended from a monkey!!!!"

It's not that many people don't favor evolution, it's that they don't even know what it is.

'Lung In A Box' Keeps Organs Breathing Before Transplants
    by Michaeleen Doucleff

    UCLA Health/YouTube
Doctors at the University of California, Los Angeles, explain how the "heart in a box" machine works.

When doctors rush a lung to a hospital for a transplant, the precious cargo arrives in the operating room in a container that seems more appropriate for Bud Light — a cooler filled with ice.

That's been the protocol for donated organs for decades. Doctors drop them into a plastic bag and put them on ice. But lungs soon stop breathing. Hearts stop beating. The organs essentially shut down and start to deteriorate.

This means doctors have only about to get the lung from the donor into the recipient. If the travel time is too long, the organ can't be used and goes to waste.

Now a team of doctors and engineers in Massachusetts is trying to change that....

If you could afford it, would you have a "genetically engineered" baby? This topic has fascinated me for a while now, probably because when I was a young I watched a lot of cartoons where people would suffer genetic mutations and become super human. Anyone to able to that have your child receive certain traits while avoiding any terrible ones like genetic disease is beyond amazing imo.

    Solar Panel Roadways
    [IMG]
This is Julie and Scott Brusaw, creators of Solar Roadways. Solar Roadways is a modular paving system of solar panels that can withstand the heaviest of trucks (250,000 pounds). These Solar Road Panels can be installed on roads, parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, bike paths, playgrounds... literally any surface under the sun. They pay for themselves primarily through the generation of electricity, which can power homes and businesses connected via driveways and parking lots.

A nationwide system could produce more clean renewable energy than a country uses as a whole

That's an interesting concept. Would love to see it implemented and tested on a small scale town street for a few years.

I like both. They can be really funny(like The Big Bang Theory cast) and of course you learn so much from them. When i was in University all i cared about was partying and wasnt really focusing much on my studies...Later on, i started appreciating all that other stuff(technology, science etc) much more. When friends would call me and ask me to go party, more often i'd decide to stay back and hang out with geek types and we'd build our own PC's. :).. Life is different for everyone i guess so for me i just want to learn about certain things as much as i can.
