My lord is Celtic Manor a disaster today. And so is the US team. Europe leading two matches early.

Rough day with all the Scotland falling from the sky. Hard to get any momentum going. The Stricker/Woods/Poulter/Fisher match might turn out to be a classic by end of play.

Watson and Overton are a monster team.

Due to the weather, the tournament has been amended. All 24 players will be involved in today's foursomes. That will be followed by two more foursome matches (for a grand total of eight) going out at the same time as four more fourball matches.

    For round 2...

    T. Woods / S. Stricker
    M. Jimenez / P. Hanson

    Z. Johnson / H. Mahan
    E. Molinari / F. Molinari

    J. Furyk / R. Fowler

Is there a reason Sergio Garcia is not on the team? As I recall, he always was one of Europe's best players in this thing.

He hasn't really had a great season and he's was pretty much crap in the last Ryder Cup. Montgomerie made a controversial enough pick taking Padraig Harrington over Paul Casey. Taking Garcia as a captains pick would have created an uproar.

The US had to leave out some great guys too like Anthony Kim and JB Holmes

Euros leading all 6 matches at nightfall. Just a great day of golf all around.

Man of the day - Stewart Cink with his long birdie put on 17. Without that the match is either 5 1/2:4 1/2 or 5:5

You have to hand it to the US, they really look the part, they were obviously dressed by their WAGS, whereas our team look like they were dressed by their Grans... :(

Anyone know whether NBC will be broadcasting the singles matches tomorrow? And if so, what time will their coverage start?

The singles will be on USA network starting at 4am eastern and then switch to NBC at some time. But if I were you I'd find a way to stream the Sky feed since it is much, much better.

Thanks for the info, Matt. I watched some NFL today from the Sky feed and was impressed with their coverage. I'll definitely check it out.

Ugly finish to an otherwise fun day of intense golf. God, I love the Ryder Cup.

Cink's was really the key match in the end. McElroy tried to give it to him on both 17 and 18, but Cink couldn't drop the putts.

Nice to have a close Ryder Cup again. Sucks when the blowouts make the final day mostly useless.

Good point. Up to today I would have called Cink the player of the tournament. At this point, I think Jimenez was the man.

That putt he made on 17 on Saturday morning was ridiculous, especially when the Europeans missed the short one.
