The Rugby League Tri-Nations competition has kicked off. The First game was played in Auckland (NZ) between NZ & AUS. For results see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_league/international_and_australian/5374646.stm
One of the matches is at Melbourne's Telstra Dome next Saturday night, between Australia and New Zealand. Could the Kangaroos do the double over their cross-Tasman neighbors? We'll see...
It was actually a good game, a close scoreline, a good fight in the middle of the game, plenty of biff, pletny of feeling and most of all plenty of skill. Thats was almost up to Origin Standard- I enjoyed it a lot.
Has big Willie bottled it for Game 2? Wait till the Lions get down under and he's gotta face Stu Fielden. What will he do then?
he cant be worst than the Kiwi fowards..when they are hunting you out..like they did to Mason and Hunt in the test earlier in the year
Well that 2nd game was ok but far too many penalties and mistakes, luckily the score kept it interesting. Pretty ironic 2 guys with kiwi blood in them Karmichael Hunt and Greg Inglis played a large part in snatching the win.
For those who didnt know- Australia were losing by 7 points with 6 minutes left in the game, and ended up scoring two converted tries in three minutes to win the game 20-15. Excellent never say die effort, considering they were nowhere near their best, and New Zealand deserved to get something out of it. Should have converted more Melbournites to League!!
Final: AUS 16 - 12 NZ (in extra time). Great game, right to the last moment. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_league/international_and_australian/6167652.stm
