I thought they played pretty well, as well as can be expected against a poor opposition. But it was certainly a better performance then the game against Bangladesh in Perth. The Tajik keeper made a couple of good saves and we hit the post 5 times, so it could have easily been 10. Of the players maybe only Leckie and possibly Jedinak had below average games.

Now that we are not in the same group a friendly should be good.

I just cannot understand why Australia is so much better at soccer than Canada.

At the moment, I do not care about having a friendly match against Australia although it would be nice.

I usually do not talk about my favorite draw for any tournament before being close to it. However I cannot hide the fact that I really wanted Australia over Japan/Korea in our final round of WCQ 2018 group because I really wanted we put Australia in its place but unfortunately you ended up being in seed 1 with us .

First half was a bit of a trainwreck in terms of buildup, but second half improved.

Yes, they might have got a penalty, but we should've scored about 4 goals as well, so swings and roundabouts. Juric looked lively except for that butchered miss in front of goal. I've never seen a worse case of Bambi legs in a professional footballer! ;)

Was Mr Juric worst than this miracle of Mr. Yu Hai from China?

Congrats Australia. You played well and fully deserved the win! Hopefully another positive result against UAE.

I think they'll definitely take a win ... and probably should have been by more. Iraq were a little disappointing in attack.

Not sure if Ange's constant chopping and changing of the team is the best policy ... I think they'll revert back to two defensive mids against UAE. Also hope they play a bit wider and with quick breaks against UAE ... Kruse and Leckie can cause most defenses trouble with their speed, they just need the space.

Surprised Brad Jones didn't get a call ahead of Adam in goals.

Only one A-League player in the squad. Might change after the season has started, but bit hard for those players to be ready atm.

Goodluck to Jeggo and Goodwin. I think Goodwin could be a great pick for the team (especially against a quick counter ... he is a bit more reliable with his defensive duties than some of our other wing backs).
