Wow, he was one of my favorites growing up. Even took part in one of my biggest sporting heartbreaks (beating Brasil in 98 WC) but I've always admired him despite that. I'm looking forward to see his work with the 1st team. I loved his influence on the squad in the 2013-2014 squad where he was close with several players and improved them. And while I don't know if its too soon for the 1st team, he was doing some good things with Castilla. His teams played actual attacking football with players having their own roles. Lets hope it translates to the main team.
Dropping by to congratulate on the new coach. The team can be so good and is meant for so much more than they have done so far this season. Hope he can turn it around. Question: The whole non-EU thing... Who other than James qualifies to fall off that list if they naturalize after this season? It's allowed after two seasons, right? I'm not sure if you'd be looking outside of the EU, but it's good to have the option available.
Honestly, he cannot do worse than Benitez that is for sure. But, the question is is he prepped for the pressure? In any case good luck and for God sake, "crush, kill and destroy" BBC once and for all.
You'd think because of my icon I'd be excited about this but I'm not sure he's ready yet. Then again, he couldn't possibly do worse than Benitez right? Best of luck Boss!
Can't help but feel overjoyed. Its definitely revitalized Madridismo and it will have the same affect on the players. He commands huge respect from them and won't have trouble managing the big names as he is one of the biggest himself. He will carry himself with class. Question mark will be his tactical nous. Lets see. I'm optimistic and happy that he finally has his chance. We've been grooming him for a while. Happy to see Santi Solari as well. Now lets get this team back to where it belongs.
If this change doesn't work out then it will be the end of Perez. Not convinced by the appointment. Zidane's job is not to do as bad as the "fat piece of shit" but to drastically turnaround the fortunes of the team.
He doesn't need to drastically change things around. IMO this season is a wash as it is, bar some miracle recovery. So I don't really feel much pressure on Zidane to perform miracles, only to lead this to a steady and favorable end, which isn't such a tough task. He really can't lead this team any worse than Benitez, so I expect this to be a great ''shock therapy'' for certain players.
It's not a total write-off though. 4 points behind and we're still in the CL with a favourable draw. Still lots to play for.
IN! I can't wait to see how he sets us up. Just wait and see, he will be our savior. ETA: I never vote in polls, but I have a gigantic boner. R-A-W-R
Next month fixtures look relatively "easy" (?) for him. 9/1/16 v. Dep La Coruna - home 17/1/16 v. Sporting G - home 24/1/16 v. Real Betis - away 31/1/16 v. Espanol - home 7/2/16 v. Granada - away ....and then....Bilbao, Roma, Malaga and the big one Atletico Madrid in Feb.
