As requested, a thread on our national team. Aimé Antheunis has selected the same squad that drawed against Norway. I will soon give the full squad, but it's getting a bit late now. Also this; I think De Mul is ready for the red devils. Though they have a tough group, I think they should be able to qualify for the WC 2006. The team can only get better with so many youngsters.
Re: The red devils Good idea Tomo, but you forgot the [R] again . Thomas Buffel and Bart Goor were called up right? I guess I'll just have to wait for your post in the future.
Goalies: Tristan Peersman Erwin Lemmens Defenders: Eric Deflandre Olivier Deschacht Vincent Kompany Daniël Van Buyten Timmy Simons Didier Dheedene Anthony Vandenborre Jelle Van Damme Midfielders: Walter Baseggio Roberto Bisconti Philip Clement Bart Goor Tom Soetaers Sven Vermant Forwards: Thomas Buffel Mbo Mpenza Wesley Sonck Pierluigi Pieroni Erwin Lemmens called off injured. Frederic Herpoel takes his place.
Bassegio out with a back injury apparently. Gregory Dufer called up as his replacement. I don't know why Antheunis didn't call up Dufer in the first place.
Caen. But he deserves a better club IMHO. He should be our starter on the right flank. He is a rarity in Belgian football: a player who isn't affraid to take players on. Even when our NT was playing badly, he always stood out when he came in. It's about time he gets a start. Besides, it's not like we are swimming in options on the right flank. Only Walasiak really comes to mind.
A draw is a bad result right? Espeically with Serbia and Montenegro winning on the road. Is Lithuania good?
No. We just really sucked tonight. Especially in attack. If I tell you that Kompany, a defender, had the best two attacking moves of the night, that should tell you enough.
yeah, bad result for Belgium. It's gonna be tough this time. Say, I'm leaving for a holiday today. Hope to see you guys back the 21st.
Have a nice holiday (although, I'm sure you're not going to read this before you get back). In my paper today they had a picture of Wesley Sonck celebrating his goal yesterday, but no pictures of the US National Team, a bit odd if you ask me.
Your Michigan paper had a picture of Sonck? That's pretty weird. Have a nice vacation Tomo - send us some pictures. I wonder if he's going to Spain?
