so you can potentially create this "hub for shopping and leisure areas, businesses, have an entertainment concept behind it" without a roof, right? the roof is not needed.

It depends on what we have planned for the field area while football isn't being played.

    Unreal!!!!

If this was some other team we would have the usual main stream outlets having orgasms and sitting down panels to discuss whether this Real Madrid dynasty is one of the best team ever of just the top 3 best teams ever (we're not but that's what the narrative would be had it been someone else). I remember when Barcelona was having some success. I think they won twice in 3 years. You couldn't click anywhere without Barcelona the greatest thrust into your face.

We have been champions for so long people forgot who the last one was before us and not a peep.

    Cool cool cool.

For the first time ever, La Liga will be shown on freesat (free to view) in the UK.

ITV have bought out some La Liga rights to show games.

Starting with Levante v Madrid this evening on ITV4

The club has sacked Alvaro Benito coach of Juvenil B for his comments post match, such as "the problem is with players like Casemiro and Kroos that were not in the match for a single minute" and his criticism of Ramos.

    Raul will take his spot.

Reminds me of when Mehmet Scholl went to TV as a pundit and Bayern cut all ties to him after his scathing criticism of Mario Gomez. In certain cases you're either employee or pundit. Can't do both.

Schuster also had harsh words for Kroos, it will be nice when people are more objective about what Kroos is doing for this team right now rather than excusing his laziness/lack of ambition.

Schuster also says that Varane was in the wrong position in every play, Carvajal is in Arbeloa's shoes and that Kroos moves around like a diesel tractor doing nothing.

Barely what i'd call being objective.

It's funny because if you dig up his comments from the years when the team was doing well, he was saying that Kroos is one of the best players in Europe, he can do everything, pass, shoot, defend, attack, a pleasure to watch.

Flag in the wind commentating to be honest.

It's hyperbolic but he's not wrong about Kroos, as a player he's far to comfortable out there. Even Marcelo, who is similarly nonchalant has been benched but Kroos is getting lots of minutes.

    Edit:

and if we're being honest Varane has had a horrible season, didn't show up till late November/early December. The performances have improved but he's no where near his best.

    Edit 2:

we're not seeing any of that range of ability from Kroos these days, attack? the only players with lower dribble completions are our 2 center-backs, and goals or assist aren't showing much either. Great player but he's not showing anywhere near his ability at this point.

Yeah, but Kroos plays the way he plays, when we win, Schuster calls him an artist and a "player that plays with intelligence", when we don't he's lazy and useless.

are you happy with what he's doing out there? jogging to block a passing lane which has a player a direct line to goal, not offering anything in the attack, just recycling possession and for all that this might be worth his creatively right now would have an assisted living center bored.

I don't think we have a better available player right now. Ceballos is dangerously overhyped in my opinion.

That's fair, but I think it's also fair to say this best midfield in the world talk is just wrong. Modric is fading and Kroos doesn't show enough. Casemiro is our best midfielder by a long mile. Isco has the potential but has been inconsistent and this season sharply declining. We need serious midfield reinforcement not just investment in minutes fie the youth we already have.

Maybe, but saying he was positioned wrong in every attack is pretty damn ignorant. Schuster got himself what he wanted: Beingin a newspaper article again.

As for Alvaro Benito, he says he stands by his opinion. Which is a weird thing to say when you say Ramos is a beast, the world's number 1 months ago and now you're criticising him on the radio.

Agreed, it's equally disingenuous (not you but some here on the forum) excuse our midfield or act like it can't be improved. There are real issues with the way it's constructed.

Most people support Alvaro Benito and his right to have an opinion, but if a coworker went on the radio tomorrow and would call them lousy employees, they'd be furious.

To me there's a limit to what you can do, and when you blame every goal from open play on Ramos, call Marcelo out of shape, stick your entire face into the Isco/Solari situation and then expect to punch in your card the next day and feel like everything is peanut butter and jelly, you're very wrong.

If our midfield can be improved... which player do you sacrifice?
