Age could be a factor here. Most of the other top guys are older. Casemiro plays games regularly with Neymar and co and seems to be a fun dude all around.

Casemiro has a big personality and we need that. We’ve had some strong characters in recent years, Pepe, Ramos, Ronaldo, Marcelo grew into one. We need some from the current crop to step up. Vinicius looks to have bags of character too.

 

Many clubs would love to have him. Clubs don't sell in the winter but they would jump at the chance of buying a player like Isco at this stage.

I think you need to divide into 3 categories:
1. older players who have been playing in high level for the past 5 years, this includes all the CL competitions, world cups, UEFA cup, club championship and so on. It all adds up and some of the players are not getting younger so recovery is longer.
2. younger players, this is a mix of our medical team and players inexperience.
3. Bale - a whole different category by itself.

I like that he benched Marcelo. Reguilon deserves to start. Marcelo has been mailing it in the league for couple of season now.
