I will say, I'm incredibly excited about this Copa round. I lived in Salamanca for a year and was a UD Salamanca fan before I was a Madrid fan. That was my entrance into loving football. I haven't really kept up with the Unionists vs. Salamanca UDS drama over basically who inherits UD Salamanca's legacy after their dissolution enough to choose a side, but I'm really excited to see one of them playing Real Madrid. If UD Salamanca was still around and playing them in el Helmantico, I'd be really tempted to fly back to Spain to see it.

He is always up for Sevilla. He loves scoring goals in Andalusia.

Ramos isn’t in the group for the Sevilla match but Benzema and Jovic are.

Doctors advised against it. Jovic only had a deeper cut, not an injury.
If Benzema starts tomorrow then he was literally rested in the Super Copa, not truly injured.

I wonder if we will play 4-4-2

Casemiro Kroos in the middle with Marcelo LW and Maybe Vasquez on RW

    Benzema/Jovic or Rodrygo upfront.

We are short of centre mids after all

I've seen snippets of news that Ramos and Jovic weren't training with the team this week. We all saw the injury to Ramos' ankle but what exactly is wrong with Jovic?

Ramos and Jovic both trained. Jovic only missed 1 day of training(deep cut).

Ramos sprained his ankle, wanted to play but doctors ruled him out.

With Marcelo id go for a 442, 433 leaves us exposed with him on the field, especially without Valverde. Hopefully jovic scores

Marcelo + Kroos - Modric - Casemiro midfield means we will probably concede goals today.

Yeah, will be interesting to say the least. Plus we know that Lucas is a turnover machine.

So our strategy is probably going to be: sign every hot Brazilian prospect and wait till Mbappe becomes available.
Let’s see if this works out.

Better this strategy than random paying 120M for average players.

There’s a very clear message from Zidane to his mids. Shoot more when outside the box. It was weird how little of this we did last year considering the players we have.

Yeah, also saw a stat that we already have highest number of shots from outside box since forever.
Shooting makes it easier to find a pass. When opposing defense know we dont shoot, they can sit comfortably and pick up passing lanes. But when they expect a shot, they will be forced to close down, opening up passing lanes.

This. We’ve been complaining about this for years, especially when Alonso was here, need to shoot to stretch the D a bit. Glad we are doing so, to offset the Ronaldo loss.
