If Rangers happened to win this seasons scottish cup, would they be eligible for next seasons europa league? If not when is it they become able to play in european competitions?
hmm but i would think that was the case when they went into administration but for the fact they started from scratch as a newco the ban would not be kept?
Glasgow Derby Saturday in the biggest stadium in the Scottish Third Division. yes you guessed it Queens Park Host Ranger's. Hopefully this will be close to a sell out and really help Queens Park finances and they push on and get promoted with the Gers. It would be great to see such a historic club like Queens park climb maybe two divisions with Rangers. Although i cant see that happening as long as they incist on the ametuer only ethos. They have loaned professional players from other clubs but never signed a professional contract. Ill be watching
Im guessing your pulling the piss but just in case its Queens Park VS Rangers, not Queens Park Rangers
Queens Park are turning the match into a festival with bands, face painting, etc. Sort of the way that Hampden was during the Olympic tournament......there is even talk that 11 clowns from Glasgow's west end will be in attendance
Green needs to reevaluate Ally's position at the end of the season. Rangers have been awful since Christmas. Massive test on Saturday for us!
Super Ally not so super after all. Hopefully he moves on at the end of the season having kick started our revival!
I would imagine with similar investment straight away. Consecutive promotions. Rangers wage bill is £7 million only second to Celtic for that the fans and board will demand immediate return. The main stumbling block is McCoist, I can't see him achieving this. Without Ally 2015 With Ally 2016 I know money doesn't mean success in football but in the lower leagues of Scotland it should.
One would certainly hope so. I don't know that moving up one division will mean a big step up in the level of play, but two divisions up there is. Knowing that wage bill, I expected the cups to be a huge priority. Maybe it was, I haven't followed it that closely, but the performances don't seem to have shown it.
Rangers have been dire for most of the season. The defeat on Saturday was a long time coming, Ally doesn't seem up to the job. No real difference between SFL 2/3 but a slight jump up in SFL1 . The cups have been a huge disappointment but not to be expected, Ally has been knocked out of 7 cups since he became the manager - Dreadful. The team Rangers have are under performing but have been for all of this season. Hard to see where the club goes, IMO it has to move on from Ally. It will be interesting to see the supporters reaction the coming months if the performances persist.
Not wanting to sound smug and I wish i was wrong. But I never thought he was the man for the job but deserved time for what he put himself through. I still wish we'd had a clean start with a progressive manager. We look really unfit as well.
Rumours mainly along the lines of CW still owns the stadium and Murray Park. That the share issue that supposedly raised £22mill only raised around about £9mill with the rest being debt for equity. This would suggest the influx of cash (well below the rumoured £22mill) has come mainly from the fans. But how can the club continue to meet their cash requirements without trying to do something like bring in season ticket sales early which surely they cannot do...? Other rumours suggest investors from Asia are considering applying for a court action if they aren't paid the money they are owed. Granted, these are just rumours and may not come to anything but it wasn't that long ago that the idea of Rangers entering into administration etc was waved off as being scaremongering. As I said, interesting times ahead.
File under 'interesting' After some days of often feverish online speculation, I am now able to clarify the situation regarding the winding-up order which may soon be served against the Rangers Newco over a contract for services prior to the recent share offer. http://blogs.channel4.com/alex-thomsons-view/revealed-rangers-windingup-petition/4020
Other online sources are now stating that a payment plan has been accepted. Why even go as far as a winding up order when a recent share issue supposedly raised over £22mill in capital...?
Pretty normal. Companies use it all the time to get quick payment. Happens in my work environment on a weekly basis. Usually it's not news worthy.
