That's a good question. If a silver spoon is first, and a wooden spoon is last, what is middle of the pack? Silicone?
Like this? "I'm not sure what you're talking about officer, that's a spoon."* *comment only valid in certain US states
We're now getting further and further away from wooden spoon territory. I present to you for consideration, the wooden shoehorn. Similar in form and made from the same material, yet oh so different - just like the Rapids. Is it possible that the Rapids could work their way into playoff contention, like a splintered shoehorn into a stinky old boot? Jim Mora says it's ridiculous to be talking about that, but to him I say:
But we can see the paddle just 50 yards away and we’re paddling with our hands as desperately as we can in hopes to get that paddle in time to save our season.
In my experience after you have done that once you always have a spare paddle along after that. Also ... your shoehorn reminded me a little of one of these (Padraig could identify it):
What seemed like 3 points turned into 1 and just like that we're bottom of the West again! There's still hope, even if it is small.
Well, that was...and odd game. We're back in the race! Only 3 points on Cinci. Vancouver is tied with us but has two games, umm, out of hand?
Very softly . . . from the kitchen . . . a scraping noise . . . sounds like wood on wood . . . there it is again. A spoon is stirring . . .
It is with a heavy heart (not really) I must stick a fork (yeah, I went there) in this thread. Unless something Hudsonlike happens and Cinci starts winning, we're out of the running for the spoon. Looks like another year of mediocrity will go into the record books.
