Fire just hired the Red Stars' communication person, which is a great start.

 

I would be fine with Arlo White. He be a very solid choice.
Partner him with an ex-Fire player (Magee could be magic) and we would have a very good broadcast team.

 

Absolutely no way that happens. He's already said if he comes back it will be back to Seattle.

 

Arlo White has been a regular "drop in " at Gingers /Aj Hudsons for decades-well before it was known as "the soccer bar". Not that it makes the rumor true , but the guy has a pretty big connection to the city .

 

I believe he still has a place in Seattle. I don't think he ever put his place up for sale and his family loved it here.

 

Btw .. my point above is that by my memory banks , I've been seeing him consistently around all the ex pat haunts for twenty plus years.
I wouldn't sell the rumor short .

 

If we're talking good hires for a play by play guy, I'd take Martin Tyler over anybody. Especially over Arlo White, that guy irks me when I have to listen to him. Most the time I turn the volume off when Arlo White is on.

 

Isn't Arlo under contract with NBC? Something happening with the EPL contract I missed?

 

I doubt Arlo is going anywhere.

 

The logo's changing, btw. Apparently it's supposed to be "European" in the way that the Crew's logo is "European". And it'll mostly be blue.

I see no reason to change it, but if they want to change it, I am fine with it.

Too bad, I just received a current Chicago Fire patch, which I actually paid for and planned on ironing onto a warm up jacket (not that I don't already have enough Chicago Fire jackets, but I do not have a black one. This is black with red stripes. Okay, too much information).

I like the Columbus Crew logo. It is way better than the idiotic logo they used to have.

I'm not a fan of the current Fire badge but Columbus's is kind of bland... there's no real unique elements to it that stand out. It'd almost look better if they let the checker pattern fill in the whole inside of the badge. Seems like everyone's got that circular border thing going now too. Minnesota has my favorite badge in the league right now.

 

The MenInRed97 Twitter account posted about it and the info is accurate. Not sure if the uniforms will for sure be navy blue too though. I hope not, but I won't be angry.

 

Whatever it is I just want to know when I'll be able to buy a hat with the logo on it. I damaged my Fire hat a couple weeks ago.

Well I'm glad I bought my Fire badge after all before they go and ruin it.

 

I like the pointy star circle thing, especially since it's an element carried over from the original badge. The inside with the C is awful though and needs something else in there...the skyline or something.

 

Hell, I would prefer a picture of Nelson Rodriguez' face, rather than a Cubs-esque logo.

 

I'm less concerned with the logo than I am with maintaining the red jersey with the white hoop. It's iconic, easy to identify from a distance and distinct within the league.

 

As a White Sox fan, that is the post of the day!!!
