No surprise I guess. Andy Schleck retires http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/andy-schleck-retires-from-professional-cycling
That guy just dropped off a cliff. Although his duel with Contador in the Tour a few years back was a modern classic.
i was at the city hall of villeurbanne last night to applaud jean-christophe péraud and got a few pics: with the mayor and the adjoint aux sports. his bike the photo he autographed (he signed my helmet too) the great young man himself doing the signing. a lefty!
Love the outfits and vintage bikes: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/17/sports/cycling/photos-old-wheels-on-tuscanys-gravel-roads.html
when i saw an alert for this thread i thought it would by contador's velo d'or but i like this much better (nothing against alberto, i just think that vintage stuff is cool)
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/brandle-breaks-voigts-hour-record Brändle breaks Voigt's hour record I wonder how many times this will be broken in the next couple years?
this record kind of got forgotten it seems. with the new attention it's getting i'll bet we'll see it broken once more before the year's out and at least once in 2015. but i'll bet robert marchand's record of 26,927, set last january at the age of... 102(!) last longer. probably last longer than he does!

PARIS / NICE. Just watching the start of this classic right now (recorded it last night) The race to the sun...... About a 70K individual time trial today. All the big hitters are there. As well as some hot newbies. This'll be the first of the season for me. With the F1 season starting this week I' going to have to be fit. PARIS / NICE
I posted a Netflix movie on an African team that went to the London Olympics. Forgotten where now.. That it "Rising from Ashes" team Rwanda after the genocide. It seemed pretty amateurish but hey! That's what the Olympics were all about before the money got in the way.
Looks like Tejay will be riding the Vuelta: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...uelta-a-espana-abandon-tour-de-france-illness.
