U18 top flight game on with no major issues. Then in second half a spectator drops the leash of her dog, who promptly runs through the open gate of the fence surrounding field. Dog having a grand old time playing keep away from everyone after I hit whistle.

After about 2 minutes of this I blow whistle again, show the dog a red card, and the dog immediately runs off field and through fence gate to a round of laughter and applause. Just lucky timing for me.

Post game, the dog owner wanted to know if their would be additional suspension for the dog.

I cautioned a dog that ran on the pitch and delayed the restart at an AYSO game. The spectators and players got a good laugh out of it.
