That's why in my opinion more english players should play abroad. Less physical leagues. When you think what a difference it would have made to players like collymore sturidge etc

Great achievement by Tammy Abraham! He and Grealish were levels above today. Tuanzebe also looked good. Hope Abraham and Tuanzebe’s injuries are not too serious.

I’m biased but Van Gaal does have a point about Solskjaer; playing the same fatigued players rather than taking a risk on Greenwood, Gomes or Garner.

Hudson-Odoi has is so lethargic off the ball I would not blame Sarri for leaving him out of the team next time. He's off injured now so the decision will probably have been made for him.

 

Things aren’t great at the minute but I expect the number of minutes played by English players to increase from now. The talent is just too good to ignore.

 

Foden starts against Leicester tonight. Pretty crucial game and a pretty big show of faith.

Well looks like he was as nervous as me. Didn't have a good half if I'm honest

 

Maddison has had some good touches so far. Leicester almost matching city and have quite a few English players in their team.

 

If anyone doubts that Maddison is better than Alli or Lingard then they should watch this game.

Chilwell and Choudhury also immense.

 

Ali's more of a Lampard type, Where as Maddisons like a No10 playing in midfield.

 

Football is a strange sport. Foden looked 3 classes above Maddison vs Germany u21, and tonight Maddison was much better. I do think Maddison deserves his place with the seniors but I'd like him to play with the u21 this summer. Choudhoury had another very good game btw.

It looks quite worrying for Foden at city, If the reports of Bruno Fernandes are correct,Hopefully Liverpool don't buy a big name striker under 25 so Brewster has a better chance of making headway

 

Reports in the papers (yawn!) this morning suggest he could play a part against barca

 

10 minutes in a game (I know it's a CL semi-final) isn't all that important I was thinking long term. It's encouraging how Klopp speaks on him, however we've seen this story before and the pressure of keeping up with city may cause him and Jones to be put to the wayside for now.

 

Funnily enough, Jones has been linked with a loan to Rangers.
