Leipzig now second and I kidded about their (Mateschitz) statement to be a force for the championship within the next five years.
Some of the guys are 1st team materials like otamendi, Clichy, Iheanacho Nolito. Don't even recall them having a shot on target today
Looking at the current BuLi table, who do you guys think will be our main competitor over the whole season? Leipzig are on a roll now and really are impressing, but I don´t see them making top 4 at the end (same with Hertha & Koln). Leverkusen are lackluster as always (even despite their stacked squad) and watching Dortmund over the last couple of matches, I think they will much more battle for 3rd or 4th place this season as I think their Defense is just a really huge weakspot. Could Schalke become a competitor?
Schalke is so far down that currently trailing us by 13points. They will need a miracle to make top 3 I see us winning the league with a decent 10+ gap between us and 2nd
I think BVB will look very different in the Ruckrunde. We will have Reus, Schurrle, and Gotze fit which helps bolster the midfield. In addition Toprak should help as a decent 3rd CB, along with potentially one additional transfer. If we can manage to limit the damage before Christmas, staying with 6 points or so, it could be fun. If we get a competent no. 8 then with a health Reus and a top Gotze we will rock the BL. Naturally we need to fix our defensive problems and PE needs to keep scoring.
Big winter transfers don't happen very often in the BL. You rarely ever see a player transfer into a big club during the winter window who then makes a big impact over the next 6 months.
There's always an exception. If there is an opportunity to acquire a player at a reasonable price then I hope our club pulls the trigger before window shuts.
