Ramos reads corners kicks fantastically. Not to mention he has great heading technique and accuracy. Varane lacks that. He is basically just about defensive heading.
Another bad day on the office for Varane in today's loss vs. Eibar. Completely switched off for their 3-0 goal... https://streamable.com/1jwc8 Man, what happened to Varane? He's been argubaly Real Madrid's worst player this season. And people cannot really use "World Cup fatigue" as an excuse anymore since it's been more than 4 months since WC-final.
Have you gone to every single player’s thread to post how terrible you thought they were in this game?, I agree it was a terrible team effort, i’ll wait and see if you show up in the Benz thread too Lolol , how odd
Did that for a while ago lol... Yeah, Real Madrid in general was bad against Eibar today but some players stood just a bit further more than anything else and deserves to be called out. And yeah, Benz wasn't great today, but it's not like neither of Real Madrid's forwards were responsable for conceding 3 goals. Varane has been nothing short but pathetic given off what he's performed since his return from the World Cup. At the beginning, people gave him benefit of the doubt and cut slack. But it's been more than 4 months since WC-final and Varane is still crap. He needs some serious competition IMHO.
For once, it's great to see Varane being scrutinized for his errors... He has escaped the criticism far too long whenever the shit hits the fan. I hope they do the same with S. Ramos, but I doubt it since he's a Spaniard. It was a successful summer for VaraneBut things have not gone well for him sinceHe's lost six of his last seven 👀https://t.co/w6VPSRbeAJ pic.twitter.com/L6nbgyRBNh— MARCA in English 🇺🇸 (@MARCAinENGLISH) November 27, 2018
Pique has won everything. Suarez has won everything. Yet you see them hustling in a simple laliga match like it's a CL final.
Varane is a headless chicken. Never learned to read the game well and is in panic mode half the time.
MARCA: Days after Lopetegui was sacked, Varane called him to apologise for his slow start to the season after the World Cup that may have cost Julen his job. Clearly it was not just Varane who underperformed, but it says a lot about his character to absorb blame.Future captain.— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) December 28, 2018
Kind of a dig at the "Future captain" part of the tweet and the low standards to which we hold the athletes, like what he did was something incredible.
It's all on the coach. Lope should have benched him for Nacho. Varane has character. He would have understood and tried to keep his shit together.
This, IMO JL didn’t seem to want to take any risks, just stuck with the status quo and hoped for something to change
He wasn't as lucky as Solari (status quo lover) who needed injury to force his hand. Ther only thing that will save Scolari is Lucas getting a long time off injury. I'm not even joking.
I don't know why but i'm really not impressed by Varane and i've had that feeling for a couple of seasons now. I was really expecting him to be more dominant in defense at this point in his career. He is a solid defender but i was expecting so much more from him. I hope he has a big game against Ajax. We're gonna need him to step up since Ramos is suspended.
